super pivot question

i have searched, and turned up no info about super pivots and powder coating the bars that come in the 5 link kit... i was wondering it this would ruin the pivots or would it be safe?

Re: super pivot question

You need to take them out. the super pivots have plastic inserts that wouldnt handle the heat from the powdercoat oven.

Re: super pivot question

also you'll want to cover the holes that the pivot actually passes thru cause you'll take FOREVER cleaning those out trying to get the pivots back in.

we actually have larg washers and a bolt running thru the pivots whenever we p/d coat them

Re: super pivot question

why not just save your money until you can order all at once? Shipping will be less.

Do a search on the forum. I believe there is a how to on it. They are kind of a bitch to work with but you get the hang of it eventually.

Re: super pivot question

because, my budget wont allow me to buy it all at once, and it would be well over a year before i had the lump sum of money to spend on it... so i am gonna peice it together just because it is the only way i can get results...

I'll take a picture of my tool tomorrow. It's easy once you get it compressed.

Re: super pivot question

Here is the howto with all pics from back in the day. To reverse, you just compress the bushings again and remove the snap ring.

Re: super pivot question

ok, so spray paint seems a little easier than dissassembling them... i dont know, i may just order a super pivot to see if i can do it... better to waste 12 bucks instead of a link bar...

and thanks
