mentions that the SD.com 3link wont work with longbeds? if so, are there any longbed compatible ones? |

Re: longbed and bolt on 3 link compatibility.
from what other people have said, the 3-link works, but the 5-link rear crossmembers have to be repositioned, but you can make it work. i know theres a couple people on here with longbeds and 3-link.

Yup...3 links work fine, thats what I'm running. The 5 link is a different story, like he said, you could probably make it work.

Re: longbed and bolt on 3 link compatibility.
alright cool. i thought i saw another thread like this before, but it went bye bye...
so the 3link would still be a complete bolt on? and anyone have pics of how the 3link looks on a longbed frame without the bed? |

If you get the completly bolt on kit it will. If not, you will just have to weld on your lower tabs to the axle. Heres a couple pics, not the best but the best I can do at the time.

Re: longbed and bolt on 3 link compatibility.
also, i was looking the SD.com website, and saw the bolt on 3link kit comes with brackets for the front end of the lower bars, but the weld on 3link kit doesnt.. at least in the pictures... so where do those get mounted for the weld on kit?
and the entire upper link setup is the same exact thing between the bolt on and weld on? |

Re: longbed and bolt on 3 link compatibility.
yes the upper pieces are the same. for the weld on kit, you use your factory leaf spring hangers relocated rearward. the gas tank is further away from the cab on a longbed than it is on a normal truck.

Re: longbed and bolt on 3 link compatibility.
The gas tank does sit farther away from the cab on a long bed, but when you put the new x-member in, the tank still stays in the stock location...other than it being raised up. You dont have to move it foreward or backward at all.
