Here is a tip fellas! Cross Shaft swaparoooni!

hehe!

this is a little how to i put together showing how easy it is to swap a stock s10 cross shaft over to a SD upper arm.

Step 1
take the nuts off the cross shaft. an impact works like a champ! you might have to clamp the cross shaft in a vise to keep it from spinning.

your gonna need a BIG FUKKN HAMMER and a BIG FUKKN CHISEL to remove one of the stock bushings. if you have an air chisel try that first.

here we are knocking out the stock bushing

you want to work your way around the bushing flange so that it comes out evenly. this will keep it from getting in a bind. you have to beat the holy hell out of that thing to get it out. it is a whole lot easier with 2 people.

here you see the bushing is removed. you only have to take out 1 per arm, so you only have to go through hell twice, not four times.

if your cross shaft is all rusty make sure you clean it up and paint it or something. dont half ass it.

BAM!!!
here is what you get with the new $179.99 upper arm kit. minus the cross shaft and nuts. we even send you a inner bushing install tool! weeeeeeeee!

knock in JUST ONE bushing first.

then knock in the inner sleeve.

here is the inner bushing pressed in all the way.

put one of the small washers on the shaft and slide it through the bushing you just installed.

here is what you should have so far.

install the second small washer on the cross shaft.

knock the second poly bushing in place. make sure it goes all the way down.

install the other internal bushing sleeve.

we include this piece of tube to help you install the last internal bushing. with the cross shaft in the way its a pain in the ass without this little piece of tube.

you are almost there!

the big washers go on next.

holy shiit! the best arms ever made!! IMO haha!!!

any questions?

Air chisel FTW!

I usually end up with a bum hand when I get a chisel and hammer in my hand. lol

Tip: If you don't have a chisel, and don't care about the stock arms, you can cut the end of the arm off at the dotted line:

Nice. I would apply some grease. Would make assembly easy and reduce the risk of squeeks.

Re: Here is a tip fellas! Cross Shaft swaparoooni!

what size are the bushings you use on your UCA's? i ordered 2 inch to make mine and the only problem is the metal sleeve wont fit over the stock cross shaft. do you have a special sleeve that you are using for arms that has a larger hole that i can purchase?
