we'll see. depending on when i get this done, i may or may not decide to make it to ITB. if i finish it too close to ITB, its not going... wont risk it on untested suspension.

im pretty sure SD gave me a hell of a deal. im very happy with the price i got

Re: Can you make me a crossmember?

crossmember looks good, im glad they got that done for you.

im concerned about the suspension design tho. the angle of the lower pushrods seems way too severe to transfer the energy of the suspension motion efficiently. itll work, but the lower it goes, the closer to horizontal it will get and it looks like if you hit a large enough bump and get the axle in the notch, it will go beyond horizontal and lock up all together. has this been ran thru solidworks or some program to move the components to see how theyll react?

yea, that is the only concern for me as well, but as far as all the modeling/prototyping etc, it has all worked out good.

obviously it isnt the most efficient layout for the pushrods, so i made them extra beefy to take up the higher loads.

here are a couple views that might help show the angles arent toooooo bad.

this one is a failed previous model.
ive tried to rip apart everything ive designed, but this final one seems to work good.
i can only hope

and i made a pretty damn scale model outta legos, and it works on lego, which has tons of compliance which gives me a lotta reassurance.

thanks for looking out tho!

Re: Can you make me a crossmember?

jeeessuussss ur cad skills are embarrassing 98% of the engineers i work with daily, holy shit man. good 2 see the crossmember got done for you it looks beefy as all hell.

but seriously keep working at ur cad and solid works stuff man ide kill to get a drawing as detailed and clear as yours on monday when they drop off the next order. these engineers kill me, all they do is draw on cad all day and dont for a second take the time to see if what there drawing is actually possible to be made in the criteria and time frame they have specified.

Re: Can you make me a crossmember?

you forgot bolt holes in the tabs of the x-member, or you're going to have to grind off that powder coat to weld it.

looks cool though.
