Updated the look of the Jimmy a bit

So i got some parts off of a local S10 Guy for the Jimmy, including a non broken glove box, some new "ears" , rear ash trays and speaker covers, because mine are trashed

But heres some pics...

Before

After the factory "sport" Mirrors

I have no idea why that shot came out so angled, sorry forv the poor quality, cell phone is all i had

And of course, some extra money shots

I got lucky and was able to pry this logo off the broken glove box that came on the jimmy and swap it over to the one i got from the blazer. little bit of contact cement and you cant even tell thats not the original glove box. Hey, gotta keep it a Gypsy, right?

and of course the wonderful 4x4 under hood liner

once i get a better camera, i will be taking retarded amounts of pictures, camera phone doesnt do this thing justice as to how clean it still is

Little background on the Jimmy, I picked it up from a local S10forum member for 400 bucks. It is a 1988 GMC Gypsy 2.8L 4x4 LOADED with the factory Z71 Offroad package, factory sunroof, Optional Guage cluster with Tach. It is a Gypsy, and it is loaded to the hilt. Reason guy was selling it so cheap is because it had a blown motor. He had 4500.00+ in new parts with recepits on the thing.

Me niether. 1988 was the first year for the Z71 silverado, but I thought it was only the full size trucks.

Then its not factory. There is no such thing as a Z71 S-10 Blazer.

Oh and your underhood light is out.

Re: Updated the look of the Jimmy a bit

You need to find these rare fender emblems,I found mine on EBAY and made it a toolbox trophie!

Anybody have the factory sunroof RPO code?My 89 Blazer has that basically same sunroof, down to the squares on the outer portion of the glass.
BTW,most 88 Blazer/Jimmys have the tach, mainly 86-88's got that tach,my 88 Blazer has one as well and so does one of my buddies 86 S-10 Ext cab.

Hello:The Off Road package &
The Tachometer
had to be ordered that way or you didn't get it.
It could be a Dealer, Sales Manager. Salesman,
or it could a promo, who did it?
But somebody did it.

Re: Updated the look of the Jimmy a bit

I have a Tach on my 88 4x4. Its not a tahoe package either.

I have ( to my knowlage) the only factory power sunroof on the forum. I have not met anyone else with one, on an 88.

Re: Updated the look of the Jimmy a bit

I see a digital dash back there, and just so ya know, unless your changing the tranny, that cluster wont work, you have a cable driven speedo in that 88,so unless your updating it as well, you may be surprised when you remove your stock cluster.

So uhh Bumporino

Is it normal for the Jimmy to have really thick aluminum skid plates underneath bilstein shocks, and a front steering stabilizer shock?

the surface rust on the door? the easily replaceable bumper, or the motor thats getting replaced right now?

How about 0 underbody rot?
its a 20 year old truck. In my area any vehicle 20 years old with this many miles is a salt eaten wreck. What do you expect? gleaming immaculate paint and a perfect body?

Yeah i wouldnt call surface rust, real rust. Rotted out Frame rails, floors and sidewalls = true rust. I wouldnt say Immaculate paint but it looks good.

It's a ****ing pile of shit. If you say it's "clean" then yes, I would expect good paint & and a rust free body. It's just another POS like any other.
