S.o.b

I went out this afternoon to clean out the inside of my Blazer and discovered water on the floor mat. Heater core leaking. Wasnt to bad to get to the core but found out I wasnt the first one. The top screw on the right side of the cover was missing and the ear on the bottom right was broken off. I was able to get to the middle screw on top though the glove box and the top left by taking out the radio. Called Auto Zone $27.00 pus tax. Will pick it up tomorrow after work guess it would be a good time to flush out old anti freeze and new stat. Oh well always something this gives me an excuse to get the Mustang out and drive it.

The early S truck with the 82-85 dash are the easiest because you can pull the glove box out. The later is a bit more of a pain but still fairly easy. I never had to pull a radio. S 1/4 socket set and use the force Luke to feel around and find the screws.

Heater cores suck but at least its not a 2nd gen. What really sucks is cleaning up the mess the coolant makes of your interior

Hey thanks for the input. This was only the second heater core Ive done and the first on a S10 Blazer. This is 1991 and I do not know how a man would have gotten to that left top screw without pulling the radio. Also there was a T fitting on the top of the cover that had two ducts by pulling the radio I was able to remove them without much of a problem. Anyway I got everything done last night and drove back and forth to work and no leaks and lots of heat. By the way I always enjoy reading your posts you can be very helpful if you a mind too. Thanks agian.
