Rounded Lug and Tire Size!?

Alright today I went to go get new tires and after waiting for an hour I get a page for a question on my vehicle. So I go up there and they tell me there is one lug nut they can't get off. ( I had all of my tires off a week prior to today and oiled all of the threads...and I wasnt over aggresive tightning it.) Sooo they asked if they could just put three tires on and when I got that lug off I can come back. I told them no, reason being is because I had 225.75 R 15 on and they were putting on a 205 or 220... Now this question.. Isnt a stock tires size for a 92 s-10 4x4 blazer 235. 75 R 15?? Or am I wrong or did I read wrong info... So after another two hours puting the old tires back on the three rims and balancing them and mounting them I come home and pull out the jack and lift the back and start taking the lugs off on the tire they were having problems with and I look and ohh the Lug Nut is rounded off... Nice. So should I just take it in and get it fixed or what? Do they normaly have to destroy the wheel/rim in trying to get a rounded lug off? The whole day has been crap but ahh well. Thats all.

hahaha

FML!!!

Yes 235/75/15 is the stock tire size. Sounds like to me they (the tire shop) was the one who rounded off your lug nut. I would think vise gripps and a cheater bar would get it off. Good luck.

Or using some kind of nut extractor. You didn't happen to jb weld the lug nut instead of oiling it did you? Hey, had to ask. If not, qtips might be right. You went to a shithole shop. Oh, and there should be no reason that you would have a destroyed wheel trying to get the nut taken off.

Re: Rounded Lug and Tire Size!?

So you suggest doing this myself..? I didnt really not what to try because I didnt want to muff it up beond fixing and have someone torch it off. Ha and no JB Weld, that would be funny, just WD40 to clean it and A little oil gun. Wow so they were way off on tire size wtf, I am going to check my 2wd s10 tires and see if they r even the size they mentioned. What a day what a day. Thanks for the awesome info may save me some money.
