New Blazer

I just bought a new Blazer.
Maybe a few of you can help me out.
My steering seems loose .
What would that be and how do i ADJUST IT . Its really loose ide like the wheel to be stiffer. Now if I let go of the wheel the blazer steers straight it does not jump left or right .
Also It has ABS can I take that out it dose not work and I just dont want it.
Were can I buy a AC delete pulley?
I also am trying to find a digital dash , the only one I found are on ebay and there alot.

napa, autozone ect have the delete pulleys, ebay too, ive got links for the 2.8 motor if you want, digital dash depends on your year blazer, i beleave that the 91 and down have the mechanical speedos and its a hassle to swap out, the non mechanical ones ive heard are plug and play

Re: New Blazer

Steering, or steering wheel is loose?
Ok, what motor do you have? They do not make a AC delete pulley for a 2.8, I used the one they say works, trust me it does not, I fabed some brackets for it to work.
What year is your Blazer, then I can answer the ABS question.
As far as the digital cluster, ya it's kool, but it gets old and tends to go bad all the damn time, i swapped in one in my old 91 Noma, went through 3 over a 2 year time period. You can swap one in, but you need to get a connector from the donor vehicle, analog gages use a different connector. You need to be able to do some wiring, are you up to the task?

Re: New Blazer

What year is it and what motor does it have.

I have seen the AC delete pully for the 4.3 in auto parts stores. For the dash, as said the connectors are different so you'd have to do some rewiring. The steering loose, thats just how these trucks are, up to 1 inch of play in the steering wheel is normal. Its an old steering box setup, not real responsive like the rack and pinion on todays cars.

Now the ABS if it's the 4 wheel abs with the big unit mounted to the fender, just unplug the wiring connectors from it, that will disable the ABS and no lights on the dash will come on. I did just that on my truck when that crap ABS system broke.

Re: New Blazer

I have a 4.3 ,
Why not remove the system after unplugging it?

Re: New Blazer

Then you can use the AC delete pulley w/o modifications.
One inch of play, dude you need a new idler arm then, I have almost no play in my three first gen Blazers.......
Here is that A/C bypass on my 2.8, it can be done:

Re: New Blazer

Yes I have, I was not refering to you when I posted the 2.8 pic, that was for renswic. If you look then you can see I said "then you can use the bypass pulley w/o modification".
Are you reading the posts?
