I hate rust
Like most S10s my Blazer was starting to rust out under the doors, quarter panel and rockers. I do not have the skills to fix it the right way and to have it done would cost more than the truck is worth. I took a die grinder to the rust then covered it with rust converter and primer. I got me a roll of flashing and two pieces of drip edge. All in all I pretty happy with the results looks better at a distance. The ripples under the doors was caused by the flashing being is such a tight roll. While I was at it I also redone my tow bar and back bumper. Hope this link works its the first time I have tried the photobucket thing. http://s843.photobucket.com/albums/zz354/69willis/

Re: I hate rust
Yep. Nice hacked fix. But, I am 19 and have learnt as I went along doing it close enough to the right way. As long as the rust is just minor, you can wire wheel it clean to rough but bare metal with a drill. Then you use smooth it out, primer it, fix imperfections, buy expensive auto paint in spray cans to your color code and put it on a light coat followed with a wet coat. As long as it is under the molding it hard to tell if you do a good job, the was was so minor that it didn't come back through the small amount of bondo used, it a way to learn better then nothing.
