How to turn off car w/o ignition

I've been playing with my switch for a day now trying to get her engage the starter.
Well she finally did and now the freaking ignition wont go to the shut off position.
Its stuck and the car wont turn off!!
I realize I need a new switch.
Am I going to have to keep fidgeting with the thing hoping it'll turn?
How can I turn the thing off without waiting for it to run out of gas?

thanks for any advice-
nts

Start pulling spark plug wires until it just dies.

If its fuel injected just pull either the ecm a or ecm b fuse and it will shut off. Everything else will still be on so take a lead off the battery to keep it from going dead.

If not just yank the coil wire with some insulated pliers.

Thanks for the all the input.
My tilt is also going too so I ended up getting a whole new column.
$50 bucks on ebay including shipping.
Better than the $175 the yard was quoting.
Get to put that in this week.

Oh yeah, pulled the plugs.
5..4...3...2...1....a little gas......and she died.

Not so bad at all.
