Exhuast tick
I bought a Blazer and its had this exhaust leak , so I found it today its in between the head and the exhaust manifold.
The Manifold looks bolted down . What gives why would it do that ? Also to any of you who have swapped v8s in 4x4 what oil pan did ya use? |

Re: Exhuast tick
Dont get me Freakin Started on craigs shithole! I have been looking for a Camaro and all I get is dumbass flakes that want 175-200% of KBB value for their cars.
I could go on all night telling you about these idiots I delt with. But anywhooo, The tick could just be a blown out gasket, if there ever was any, or a cracked manifold. It just happens. the expansion and contraction from the tempature change does not help. I picked up the Canton swap pan for my brothers 4x4 V8 swap. He said with new mounts and the JTR swap engine brakets the pan sat real close though. But that may be due to the JTR mounts as the 4.3 in my mom's 2wd also sits close with their mounts |

Re: Exhuast tick
Its coming out in between the head and the manifold its self.
Seems like most of the people on CL just dont care because there is no fee to pay or any type of commitment. |

Re: Exhuast tick
There may not be gaskets there or they are blown. Make sure there are no broken studs also. Could replace the gaskets and/or have the manifold surfaced and seal with black RTV.
Around here people don't respect. They have no repsect for others, no respect for craigs. No buying and selling of firearms. It don't stop people from posting. Flag crazed people. They must get a power trip off it. Begging, "Im a single mom full time student that works full time and I need a free car. Nothing older that 99 and must have under 100,000 miles, smogged and registered". I have not seen it but would not put it past anyone to have requested the insurance also be paid. |

Re: Exhuast tick
They don't have gaskets from the factory but you nver know if some one put them in as there are gaskets available. Gaskets may be advisable if you do not have the manifold surfaced.
Maybe if you have sand paper and a super flat surface you can run the manifold on that too flatten it out. The surfacing machine is just a huge powerfull belt sander with some coarse ass grit. |
