blazer rosty rear spring lever stuck. Standard failure ?
Dear all,
I was wondering why my Blazer was not straight from the rear view. I observed that one of my shock absorber was leaking oil. After replacing the absorbers and no improvement of the rear straightness I checked my rear leave spring levers. They were looking very bad and rusty. I assume the are stuck. I loosed the bolts and made them turnable in the bushing. It a stuck rear lever a std S10 failure mode ? How much are replacement levers ? Thy are so full of rust that I assume they loose stiffness soon or later. regards Bob Last edited by monette999 : 06-14-2008 at 11:13 AM. Reason: Typo |

lever? im going to assume you are talking about the shackles?
you can buy replacement ones or take some from a junkyard, or are you not from the US? is it leaning towards the drivers side? measure from ground to top of fender lip, and tell us how much difference there is between right and left. it may be the "chevy lean" which is common |

If its 4X4 you may need to just adjust the torsion key on that side a bit, maybe the adjustment bolt has loosened over time.
