Average life span of a v6

I was wondering what the life span is on the V6 and Auto trans that comes in the Blazers. I might be buying a 91' for $1,300.00 with 200K and was wondering what I should look for before I purchase it. It doesn't seem to smoke, knock or make any other weird random noises. So any of your guys help would be appreciated.

EDIT: As for maintenance I have no clue to when or if it has ever been up kept.

Re: Average life span of a v6

if its the cpi engine, and the right work has been done to it to keep it healthy, then it should last for well over 200k...

i have a 93 4wd with a 196000 and a 94 2wd with a 189000 and absolutely nothing wrong with either of them.

Re: Average life span of a v6

My 92 has 160k on it. Smokes a little on start up, runs great though. The trans was rebuilt at 145k even though it always had 30k services, at least that is what I paid to have done.

Re: Average life span of a v6

My 1988 Has 202,000 miles. Im rebuilding the engine due to an unfortunate mishap. Took the heads off and the cyl walls and the piston rings were clean. Original seals. I could expect another 90K out of the motor.

They are good engines.

Mine had 135000 on it, but under the weight of a teenage boys foot, you guessed it... it started knocking.
