Re: 1st gen Blazers; post pics here

well i was at the junk yard yesterday and all the trucks that used to have double visors well, they used to have them, lol. and i couldnt find any of these mysterious 3rd brake lights.

but i did find a overhead consoul and a set of power mirrors. which i got down to the last screw and stripped it out but hopefully they will still be there on saturday or one day after work before than. ( i know i shoulda hid them somewhere) haha

Same thing I was thinking. I see the double visors in Jimmys a lot but never the 3rd brake lights.

Truck looks nice and clean. I like the paint. What's the story with the center console?

everything except the dash pieces and the upper door panel was red. there was to much red on the interior so i stripped everything, cleaned it and sanded it down (there were alot of scratches and the red paint was faded). i sprayed it with a fusion paint that bonds to plastic and wont peel or fade.

Re: 1st gen Blazers; post pics here

This was my first car when I turned 16.
I just bought it back and I will eventually restore it.
It needs a lot of work to get it back to the way I had it 13 years ago. The second pic was how it looked the day I sold it. The first pic is what it looks like today. A lot of rust on the rear quarter panels. Needs new everything. I would like to eventually put a 327 in it.

Re: 1st gen Blazers; post pics here

i was thinkin, since the lid is broken off my center console anyways and i like the look it has now, i wanna take the lock out and put a toggle switch in the hole for my amp. i would just use a washer on the front to hold it on there. what do u guys think?

Re: 1st gen Blazers; post pics here

I agree. It wouldn't be what I'd do but it might have been something I would have done when I was 17 and broke. If you do that mod, paint the washer black and maybe look for a round push-button switch.

yea i like the push button idea better. the lid will still fit on top of the center console and wont slide off. theres just no point to keep the lock. eventually ill get a new one but all my money is going towards getting it running and on the road first. im looking for cheap things i can do here and there.

Doesn't that shifter get in the way of the radio when it's in Drive? I know mine did on my '95 Blazer even though it was stock.
