Re: ZR2 OEM Tire Size?
I know the stock size. I just want to know if I can squeeze another inch under the stock height without rubbing, or bad rubbing anyway. I know 33's just wont fit without a lift.

Re: ZR2 OEM Tire Size?
They do rub on the sway bar. Turn your wheels to a full lock. 11.5s will be worse because they are wider. They will also rub at the front and rear of the wheel well. You can do a Tbar crank and some trimming to fit them. It still will be a tight fit, but it's been done. IMO its not worth the effort to bump up 1 inch. If you are gonna slap some bigger tires on, you get much more bang for your buck to lift it and go 33+.

Re: ZR2 OEM Tire Size?
But lets say I did want to run 32"s. How bad would the rubbing be? Im building a front bumper so the front of the wheel well will not be a problem.
Would the T-bar crank be so bad that my front end will go out faster? |

Re: ZR2 OEM Tire Size?
Its not the front, the rear of the front wheel well is what get in your way the worst.

Re: ZR2 OEM Tire Size?
Hey ive got a 98 ZR2 running 32-11.50 Maxxis Buckshots and they occasionally rub if im doing some decent trail riding. Your gonna have to trim the front flare's and id get rid of the sharp edges and trim the inside and bracket bolts in the rear. Heres some picsThe rear has an overload spring and the front torsion bars were cranked but their sinking and they still fit great.
Rear tuckin but the other side was still on the ground ![]() Picture at the first Bodatious of 07 ![]() Random picture from Watkins farm in King William after she made it through 6 times (Had 31-10.50 Courser MT's here though)

Re: ZR2 OEM Tire Size?
Actually beedle4 is right in a way. The stock 31s do rub on the sway bar on some. Mine does because it sits lower in the front. Some zr2s came from the factory with a baja stance that sat higher in the front and the tires don't rub unless flexing. The ones that sit lower in the front have a higher tendency to rub the sway bar mostly on the driver side from what I've noticed but it may be both sides. It doesn't really hurt anything it just rubs the paint off of the sway bar. Just thought I'd throw my .02 in.

Re: ZR2 OEM Tire Size?
Hi guys, new member here. Some good info here but I would like to add that my 2003 ZR2 rubs on the passenger side when I lock to steering wheel to the left. It rubs hard enough to slow the truck down in a slow tight turn......I usually back off on the steering wheel as soon as I feel it. Stock tires, stock susp......GVW...5000 lb

Re: ZR2 OEM Tire Size?
Some trucks rub more than others. I've read of some guys clearing 33x12.50's without rubbing on the sway bar, while others rub with stock 31's. I'd guess it has to do with how the sway bar sits on each truck.
