Prerunner look

So I won a Fabtech in-bed tire carrier off of ebay yesterday and have decided to go with the prerunner look on my zr2. You don't see many zr2's like this but I think it will look good since it already has the flares. As of right now plans are to crank t-bars with the nose a little higher than the rear, mount spare in bed, light bar(if I can ever find one), two 6" fog lights on front, probably BFG all-terrains(since we already have a set!) and a tailgate net or no tailgate and just leave my ratchet straps that are on there right now. Does anybody else have any suggestions of what would help with the look I'm going for? I will also be redoing the exhaust to hidden duals now that I will have room. I want wheels too but don't have the $$$. Also don't want to trim fenders. I'll post up some pics in a few days and will try to keep new pics posted as I do more.

Re: Prerunner look

Has anyone seen these wheels on a 98+ s10 or zr2? My friend has them on his 95 and I kind of like them and think they would help with the prerunner theme.

Re: Prerunner look

I like your idea... I cant think of anything else...

I know the feeling of not havin any money for wheels. Those wheels would look good. I've never seen them on a 98+ s10 or zr2 though. But for maximum look of a prerunner some wheels that are dished and have a lip would be best. But I understand the money issue. Tailgait net for sure though! I hate trucks that have nothing there. Nets look pretty good!

Re: Prerunner look

I have a set of those rims sitting in my basement waiting to get powercoated black. I've seen pics of these rims on Zr2's and I think they look good.

Re: Prerunner look

I'm glad that people actually like the idea. I was afraid I would get bashed. I just got back from Kentucky a little while ago. Me and some friends went fourwheeling today. I'm trying to get the pictures uploaded. I'm going to try photoshopping those wheels onto my truck.

Re: Prerunner look

Yea I did a rough photoshop and I didn't really like them on the bodystyle. I can get a good deal on several sets on ebay, these go cheap. Do you guys think that they fit the theme or should I just hold off for something else?

Re: Prerunner look

I'm assuming that was while installing a 5 or 6 inch suspension lift before you did the rearend? I'm not going that extreme! I picked up my net today and my tire carrier came in yesterday. I may be getting a good deal on some small rectangle PIAA foglights that I may mount behind the grill if I get them. I'll get some pics tommorrow hopefully. I've got to paint the tire carrier. It's Fabtech blue and my truck is red with all black accents.

Re: Prerunner look

Ok so finally got some done. Sorry it took so long I've been working and didn't have a chance to get any good pics. Here you go, pics are always good!
So this is what it looked like when I got it

I did a test fit to see what it would look like. I have a matching PA3 but it wouldn't fit.

I forgot to get pics once I painted it. This is it mounted.

The final product with antennas and tailgate net. I actually have a cb to go with my antennas though.

I couldn't paint this retaining plate. It's anodized aluminum and paint won't stick. I think it looks good though, it sets it off.

Let me know what you guys think.

Re: Prerunner look

Your CB will work better with only one antenna, to run duals you need them at least 6 feet apart. The 2 that close together will highly limit your range.

Re: Prerunner look

I just use it for when we go fourwheeling to keep from having to stop and decide which trails to run. It's just a cheap cobra from walmart. I've got like $75 in cb,antennas, mounts, dual coax, and wiring. It does what I need it too.

Edit: Thanks for the info though. I didn't know that. I will however pass that onto a friend that actually uses his for more. He is considering switching from 1 to 2 antennas.
