Re: Post pics of ZR2 S-10 or Blazer

They came with the truck when I bought it. I think it just gives the truck a more aggressive look on the front end.

I hate them on all other cars/trucks I've seen, but I like 'em on my truck.

The hood was damaged, but I'll be getting it fixed tomorrow. It was just buckled a little bit down by the grille. The hood is part of the truck...... I just gotta have it

nice Z Toko, I've been looking to get a roll bar with lights on it. How did you route your wires?
Thanks!
I got the roll bar for $75 at a yard sale, the guy had it in his toyota tacoma, but took it out after he rolled the truck, it only had a hole big enough for a single 12 gauge wire, I drilled that hole bigger to fit 2 10 gauge wires and ran them down the roll bar (2 down each side) and out the bottom and I drilled a hole in the truck bed for the wires to come out under the bed. Neg wire bolts to the bottom side of the roll bar pos side goes along the top of the frame through the dash to a relay and a switch.

Trucks with Roll Bars look sexy! I've gotten a lot of compliments with it.

It needs a lot of work though, SES light came on, new valance, tailgate, lots of things need to be repainted, door squeaks really really loud, strap fell off the exhast again so it rattles, and I hope the creak coming from under the truck is not the ball joints going out.

Hey ZR2Sputnik are those 33 x 10.5 tires? BDS 5'' lift? They look awesome, that's the size I wanted to go with, better mpg, better digging and ice driving.

Yessir, those are 33x10.5 BFGs. I just have a 2" body lift with 2" shackles and a 1.25" tbar crank. They perform great so far

Thanks for the compliments guys, I love my baby. I'll put some new pics up when I get my grille/flares/bumpers/wheels repainted. I've got some big plans

Thumbs up Re: Post pics of ZR2 S-10 or Blazer

Here is my 2000 ZR2 I put the stickers on the step tubes and the cold air intake and a billet aluminum 3rd door handle so it will not break again. I have alot of other mods I plan on doing after I get some more money. They will include 2" lift front with tubuler upper Arms and 2" shackle's rear, lund sun visor, super bull bar with fog lights, roof mount light bar with offroad lights, throttle body riser, accel ignition coil, accel plug wires, bfg mud terrain tires 31x10.50, black modular wheels 15x7 maybe with 1" backspace if the lift will allow them to not rub, and other cosmetic features.I will post more as I get things done.

Re: Post pics of ZR2 S-10 or Blazer

I honestly hope your joking about 1" backspaceing? You will NOT be able to turn and it will rip your front end up!

And the 2" superlifts a waste of money. Just crank the front end 1.5" and add shackles. And maybe a body lift.

This may be off topic, but how do you debadge the doors and tailgate without peeling the paint or leaving that black adhesive on your truck?

its not to hard, so far i have taken the s10 off the tailgate and the ls badge off. take a blow dryer and heat them up real well and use an old credit card/gift card and slowly go under them and cut it away from teh body. it will take some time but dont rush it. when you have them removed use some goo gone to remove all the left over residue.

i plan next to remove chevrolet from the tailgate and s10 from the front doors

Look in the classifieds section, there might be one in there for sale, otherwise look around for deals, or if you don't mind paying about $400 order from Summit.

Those are 32" BFG MTs. I had to put a set of AALs on to cure the infamous rear end sag and I tweaked the TBs a little. I had to do some very minor trimming on the flares up front . I will be getting the lift shackles for the rear this spring, probably no more than 1.25". It still needs a little more lift in the rear. I really want to lift it big time but not with the stock IFS under it. Maybe one day a SFA swap. Thanks for the comment.

i have hit 2 deer and a pedestrian with that brush guard, first deer was at 47 mph, 2nd deer was at 35 mph, and the pedestrian was at maybe 3 mph?? A woman walked out infront of me in a parking lot and i didnt see her, she told everyone it was her fault because she saw me but kept walking, i didnt do it intentionally and i felt terrible for it the whole day.

i have tried straightening it out but the mounts are bent where it attaches underneath the grille. i am going to loosen all the bolts and tie it off to a tree or pole and back it up until it pulls back down. Other than that my Z has changed since those pics, i got new rims that make my tires stick out more, Crager Soft 8's 15 x 8 with 4.5" of backspacing.

I used the black metallic wheel paint you can buy in a rattle can. I used it on my last s10 my jetta and on this and so far, for rattle can, I think it turned out really well. I don't like the availabilty of wheel choices with the backspacing on these. So, I painted the wheels on this and my last dime.

Re: Post pics of ZR2 S-10 or Blazer

I recently bought mine, can't wait to fix it up. It may need a tranny and definitely needs some body work. The previous owner was pretty rough on it so I had to rescue it. Missed my old zr2.

Re: Post pics of ZR2 S-10 or Blazer

Everyone else gets to update the progress on their impressive rigs. So am I, even though Its not as impressive as some build-ups.

Got my camper shell back from the paint shop. Not a bad investment for a total of $400, purchase and paint. My poor old 2500 feels so neglected.

I added the bumpers, front and rear.

I also added ZR2 decals and color matched tail light guards.

Next, I will work on offroad lighting and a cargo rack on the camper.
