Looking at a ZR2 Blazer, have ?????

First off it's a 2005 with 98,xxx miles. I went to look at it Saturday and I lifted the rear seats up, and there was a lake on the pass. side under the rear seat. There was a little water on the drivers side too. The headliner was not wet, so I don't know if it came from the rear quarter window or not. Is this a common problem? Do you guys think its been wrecked? I couldnt see any tape lines. Can anyone run a carfax for me? Thanks for the help.

No, I looked all over. I didn't feel or see any tape lines anywhere either. I might go back and look all over again. I just thought it was wierd. The whole well under the seat was full. I really like the truck, but if it's a major thing, I don't want it.

I think I might just pass on it. Who knows how long it's been leaking like that. Thats a lot of water to just sit on the floor. Meh, I'll find another one.

Re: Looking at a ZR2 Blazer, have ?????

No it doesn't stink. I though about that too. I talked to the dealer yesterday and they found that the rear side window was the cause. The trim and headliner has been wet in the rear. He told me they had Safelite come out and re urethane the glass back in. I still don't know though. That was a LOT of water. I don't know if there are any electrical connections under there, it will rust the bolts for the seat tracks and rust the floor. Bums me out cuz the dang thing is loaded too. It makes me wonder if someone had the glass out, maybe it got broke accidentaly???? I may go back and look at it again.

i agree with demon666

that is some big wagering chips sat in your lap... i say go look at it and see if you can run a water hose over it for a good long while to see if it leaks anymore...

where are you located?

The inside will end up stinking if they don't get that carpet dry soon. You could save a bunch of cash.

I would do that but I am worried about long term affects on the floor, seat track, and whatever else is under the seat. I'm in St. Louis. If they dont pull the carpet up of put something in there to dry it up it will be bad later.

Re: Looking at a ZR2 Blazer, have ?????

I would take it and test drive it to the local automatic car wash. Run it through and see if its leaking still.

If the leak was a one time deal, there shouldnt be any major damage to the vehicle except the carpet maybe. As long as the cab floor is still painted, you shouldnt experience any ill effects. The only thing that could be damaged is the carpet and padding and you can always negotiate the price down enough to pull the old carpet out and put new in, or in my opinion, I would go with the formed vinyl replacement. But, its your call as to if you want to or not.
