finallly fixed v-6 misfire

I went from a ford ranger to a 2002 zr2 s-10w/ 75,000 miles on it, it had a miss when I bought it but the price was right and I figured it was time for a tune-up. Gave it a tune -up helped for about a week then the service engine lite came on, took it to the shop EJ Automotive, and replaced #4 injector, ran good ( except for a slight flutter at 1000 rpm and less, brought it back after 2 days , engine lite on again), they replaced #4 plug ran good for about 50 miles then engine lite came back on again, brought it back to the shop, scanned it and it threw a random miss code, so they took it for over nite and test drove it and it died and would not start, all the while it was getting rougher and loseing power, well they thought it was hydro-locked but the plugs were dry so they pulled the distribator and low and behold the gear on the bottom was stripped down to about nothing, put in a new distrib and it has never run so good, no miss tons of power not even a slight flutter, it's perfect, runs excellant . Hope this helps anyone else who is lost and tired of there truck RUNNING LIKE CRAP. seems GM had a batch of soft gears that got through (on purpose I would bet) and there is the problem

does that happen with other years? my 97 has a bad misfire and has no power, I have put in new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I haven't touched the feul system other than testing the pressure which was good.
