Re: Usmc
Back when I joined I went to my recruiter, was at meps the next day, and 2 and a half weeks later I was at Parris Island. Lol just like that and now Im stationed at Camp Pendleton. Its a love/hate thing. The games never do end even as an NCO you still deal with bs. But as stated before you will have the best times in your life and the worst. All in all its not so bad. Im still on my first enlistment but Im not planning on reenlisting lol. Im goin to school

Re: Usmc
Ha I guess you could say that. I was supposed to go 4 months after I originally did. BUT, lol I went to MEPS signed my contract and the MEPS woman was like so youll be back here in 2 1/2 weeks then youll be off to PI. Haha so thats kinda how it happend. On my IST I ran like a 9 somethin with 16 pullups and 100 crunches. All I can say is work on those and youll be straight. Keep your head up and do what your told how your told to do it and youll be fine man trust me. You should see some of the shit that actually makes it to the fleet. You sound like you have alot of stuff taken care of and your head on straight. Just dont be one of the boots that graduates bootcamp and thinks your automatically a billy badass lol. Keep in mind no matter where you end up getting stationed, the surrounding citys are going to be full of people trying to get your money or get you to buy this or that. Hell it seems like all of SoCal is feeding off of stupid marines. GL with everything and be confident. |

Re: Usmc
Good luck and have fun in boot. At first it sucks major ass but then when you get used to all the "fvck-fvck" games it's kind of funny. I broke my foot in boot camp and got dropped (which sucks dick by the way) and went to MRP. I was at medical everyday trying to get picked up with a new company telling them I wasn't broke anymore. They just kept telling me to give it some time. So anyways; five weeks or so later I picked back up with a company and I couldn't help but laugh everytime they played games in the squad bay or whatever.
As stated before; you're gonna have some of the best and worst times of your life in the MC. I myself got out in 2007 but I had some of the best times and have the best stories ever. And as for the stumps; it SUCKS! But then again so does Lejeune because 40K out of 50K people off of base are Marines. You can't get the fvck away from them unless you go 2 hours out at least. Even then you run into a good amount. After your schooling they are going to give you a "wish list" of where your first choice would be. Either west east or overseas. If you pick east then your bound to go to Lejeune. You might go somewhere else on the east but that's the main spot. So if you don't wanna go there I'd pick west coast or overseas. There is so much more to do on the west coast and I'm not 100% sure on overseas since I didn't go to Japan. But I hear it's pretty bad ass over there and there's a bunch more to do. Although you might not be able to drive and shit until your a Corporal so that kinda blows. Remember this: It's all what you make of it. I was stuck at fvcking Camp Wilson on 29 for nearly a year for close to 12 hours a day everyday with a weekend or two off here and there. BUT I still managed to have a killer time. Granted I did head out to LA just about everytime I had off. Good shit though. I'd definitely recommend that... Sorry for the book but if you have any questions or anything just let me know and I'd be happy to help. Semper Fi Anthony |

No sir I went to sunny SD. Hollywood marine here lol. The only thing that sucked is all the damn planes flying in. But that and the SD city skyline was motivation for me to keep on trucking and get the shit done and over with.

Re: Usmc
We get FNGs to " find soft spots " on the Brads and Tanks with small mallets. They are supposed to mark the spots with chalk or whatever. Obviously there are no " soft spots " but they will be covered in big Xs.....

Re: Usmc
Yeah and it's the same way in Jacksonville with everybody trying to get your money. Just hold off and don't buy anything out that way unless you need it. I mean the PX is straight for like food and groceries and shit like that; but don't go off base and get crazy spending your money. There's a good 10-15 car dealerships out that way and they're ALL RIPOFFS! Don't trust any of them ... they're all a joke.
I never bought anything out that way. When I was at 29 I made sure to go ALL THE WAY out to Palm Springs to the mall and shit to make sure I rarely see any Marines or get ripped off. |

Re: Usmc
Plus there wasn't shit for hot women right outside base. Once in a blue moon you'd see one or two. You need to go a good distance to see all the hot "civilian" women haha.
Oh and stay away from the strip clubs in NC. I forgot what the one is called but it's open at like noon and it's a bunch of hicks and shit. It's so bad lol. I've been there a couple times though ... which is something I'm not proud of. Plus you don't wanna catch anything cause they're notorious for putting out in the VIP room ... don't ask me how I know. ![]() |

Re: Usmc
There's one that's called "La Mirage" that's not too bad. I like that one the best. They have the best looking women and it's the classiest out of em all. It just sucked cause I wasn't 21 and couldn't get drunk without getting in trouble. There were a lot of blue falcons out there trying to snitch on people. Shit's weak....
