National Guard Bonuses Are Going Away

Well it's official as of 1 march the big $20,000 bonus is going away, it will be replaced with a 10,000 bonus and this will ONLY be available in critical MOS's
and off peak time frames, so if your gonna enlist or reenlist I'd do it now
before March 1st

The full time guard AGR bonus will stop 1 March also, so get it while you can.
I am a AGR (active Guard) training NCO at a guard unit, and my recruiter forwarded me the official e-mail today, so this is lagit, it is suppose to apply to active army also, but the time it starts may be different.

That kind of thing is happening across all the branches.

It's part of the new President's military downsizing plan. The same type of thing happened when Clinton took office and started early outs to service members in non-critical MOS/NEC.

thats what a friend told me but he said there will be no more sign-on bonuses at all.

I got lucky and made it down to MEPS the friday before the 1st. Got my 20k sign on. Ha

well i would but i'm pretty set on the one i want. i'm taking up 63h for the bonus, and later on retraining on 63b. my options are fvcking slim in PA according to my criticals list. there's other bonuses to factor in though too. off peak, etc.
