I wasn't dissing anyone, I was just talking about our stretching routine.
...but yeah, surface rates are lame and if you're going to tell that joke, tell it the way it is, don't try to get creative.

Re: Military BSing Thread

Hah Ill be in 29 in about a month.

But who knows if Ill really end up going. My unit is not on top of their shit at all. Within the last two months Ive been told 1. Im getting orders to okinowa. 2. Im deploying early November. 3. Im going to Nevada for 2 weeks to test weapons. Within the last 3 weeks Ive been told to standby for the whole oki thing, I am NOT deploying, and Im NOT going to Nevada for a month. Lol thats how it works, it fckn sucks. I really wanted to go to afgan, and test new weapons in Nevada. Oki never really seemed exciting haha. Ahh but who knows I more than likely will end up goin to 29 palms because its for a field op and thats takes priority over cooler things such as shooting guns and working with civilians hah

In all honesty, I've got respect for any of you other services. Yes, even the weekend warriors.

Say what you want about the Air Force as well, I'm from a Marine Corps family, I've heard all the lazy/soft jokes anyone can come up with, so shoot away.

Re: Military BSing Thread

Yeah you guys do get screwed on base selection. My dad was stationed at 29 palms, so is my cousin now. I guess Ocean Side could be a decent assignment though. I'm debating on driving up to Munich for Oktoburfest this weekend. Damn this assignment kicks ass. haha It's ok, I'm wanting to deploy so bad, but it's not looking like that's going to happen anytime soon. You guys get that at least, a year or so of tax free money. My job is a lot easier than a grunts in the desert as well, so I understand why most you guys don't want to be there.

But a change in scenery would be nice. I would still wanna be a Marine and do my job; just at a different base lol. Italy would definitely be nice. Do you live off base or on? Man I can't even imagine ... how are the women out there?

E-5 no need for points to be a E-4....Active Duty Army....11B Infantryman....Would have been promoted about a year and half ago but got into it with a old Squad Leader while we were in Iraq....

Why do you want to deploy so bad obsolete??? Deployments are gay just like all of the Armed Forces.....What's your MOS flux??? Wait don't tell me....Infanty ..all Marines are Infantry right???

Nah I was a 3521 Diesel Mechanic. Oh and you need a cutting score for E-4 and up in the Marines. I got out in 2007 but I would've loved to go overseas somewhere. I wanted to hit a MEU but our unit was all about ****ing people over instead of letting them succeed. ****ing assholes..

Re: Military BSing Thread

I live off base, the base here is weird and really isn't set up well for people to live on. The women are weird, most look kind of manly compared to American women, because they don't really wear any makeup at all, but they ALL have smokin bodies, they all have flat stomachs, no pudge here like in the States. The strippers all look good here haha.

I want to deploy because first off, AF only does 6 month deployments, I am a 2A6X1, in other words, Jet Engine grease monkey. I work on F-16's. I want 6 months of tax free pay so I can invest the hell out of it. Also, being AF working on an expensive ass airplane, they won't put us on the ground somewhere super unsafe, they have too much invested in having our aircraft blown up. We live like royalty by what I hear in comparison to other branches. I guess since most Airmen are soft pussies, they treat us like that. I work with a guy that deployed in 2003 to Afghanistan with a bunch of Marines, he volunteered, and he said he hated it and never wants to go back, so who knows I may change my mind. He said he was sleeping in fighting holes and trucks though.

Yeah 15 months of tax free , haz pay , sep pay , etc ....was nice and each month over 12 months a extra $1000 on top of everything else...This go around more rank and TIS with $500 extra a month ( stop loss pay ) along with everything else will be nice...Sleeping in the dirt isn't that bad...haha

Not when you do what we did.

Deployment was fun as shit unless you got whiny ass VIP's. Although, telling a full-bird Colonel to sit down and shut the fuck up is always a fun time.

Oh, he was trying to do shit but this*points to self* guy and a State Dept. PSD guy shut his ass down.

It was when we had Rumsfeld one time in the IZ. I was driving Chase vehicle(vehicle that protects the VIP's limo)...we were sitting at the Embassy waiting for Rummy to come out. Well, he comes out and gets in the limo while my State Dept. guy tells me that they're going to move the limo up about 10feet or so for some more room at the door and to just sit tight because we weren't moving yet. So, they pull the limo forward and this Colonel is freaking out, "WHY AREN'T WE GOING WITH THEM?!?!? LETS GO! THEY'RE GONNA LEAVE!"
"Uh, no, they're not, they're just moving the vehicle forward."
"THATS MY BOSS UP THERE, WE GOTTA STAY WITH HIM!!!!!!!"
"Uh, last time I checked, we're both in the Army so that makes him our boss and we're staying put, like the RSO told me."
"BUT WE GOTTA STAY NEAR HIM!!!"
*at this point in time, I wave the RSO over and calmly ask him to explain the situation to Capt. Dingleberries in the back. And he looks just like a little kid if you take candy away from them.*
"Now, sit down and shut the **** up so I can do my job that I've been trained to do and have been doing for the last 6mos in this hellhole, fuck."

Dude just slumped back in his chair and didn't say another word the rest of the time we had Rumsfeld. Was fucking priceless.

I feel ya. While I was a somewhat junior E5 I was qualified as a senior communications supervisor at my last command. In the middle of an operation, some piss ant O3 comes in and starts flipping switches on my gear. Naturally, I start screaming at him. Some other O3 pokes his head around from where he was sitting and tells me, "That's an officer in the United States Navy you're talking to like that." I promptly tell him to "keep out of it or he's next" at which point he ignores us and goes back to what he's doing. The original O3 I was yelling at goes about his business, but unknown to him, I've already sent word to my Department Head as to what has happened. Our DH, an O4, gets out of the rack just to come up to where this guy was and start yelling at him for the same reason I did. Then Commanding Officer of our submarine hears about it, leaves the movie he was watching in the officer's Ward Room, and comes up to yell at him.

Our DH, an O4, gets out of the rack just to come up to where this guy was and start yelling at him for the same reason I did. Then Commanding Officer of our submarine hears about it, leaves the movie he was watching in the officer's Ward Room, and comes up to yell at him.
No, no you didn't. You were probably like, "Si-si-si-sir...could you please leave my stuff alone before my Supervisor comes and yells at me for it being wrong? Please?"

I'm just fuckin with ya.

On a side note, not a story about telling an officer off but massive luls ensuing:

We were training on the mobile Bradley simulators the Army has nowadays. It's a big tractor-trailer enclosure with everything inside needed for the running of the simulator. The driver is in one trailer while the gunner and commander are in another. I was one of our newer Lt's driver's so it was me, the LT and an E5 gunner. We start the simulation and we're part of a platoon of Bradleys out in the desert somewhere doing maneuvers. There's a road cut into a mountain on our right and we're like 20 feet below the road in a little valley-type thing. The following convo goes as:

So my LT goes, "Hey, Zap, lets take a right and get on the road!"
"Sir, the road that's above us?"
"Yeah, lets go up that embankment!"

*pause in the story* Now, the embankment is AT LEAST 75* angle and there's no way in hell we'd make it up but he can't see this as he's 5 feet higher in the Bradley than I am but I can see it plain as day....and there's an NCOIC for each crew running the sim who hears everything on the CVC radios, which are also being recorded.

"Sir, lets just go around the little embankment and come out on the road another 1/4 mile up."
"Screw that, no time! Lets go up it!"
"Sir, that's practically a flat wall in front of us, we won't make it."
"Zap, damnit, I said lets go up it!"
"Sir, just for clarification, you want me to drive up the embankment?"
"Yep!"
"So you want me to drive this Bradley up the embankment, is that correct?"
"Yes!!"
"Just one more time, please. You want me to take *this* Bradley and put it over *that* embankment, is that what I'm hearing? I just want to make sure we're on the same page."
"Goddamnit Zap, yes, lets fuckin go!"
"Ooooooooooooooooookaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy......... ............."

*drives up embankment*
*all screens go black*
*screens come online after 10 seconds except everything is upside down?*

NCOIC stops the sim and asks everyone to come to him. Zap proceeds to hound the living shit out of the LT about driving up a wall and flipping their Bradley over, killing everyone inside.
LT is busting up laughing after he sees on video and learns exactly what took place.
Zap then asks the NCOIC for a copy of the audio/video for "Unit safekeeping" and is politely denied.
