Any Navy peeps on Hold for orders?

I just got word from my detailer that 14,000 sailors are on hold to PCS anywhere! I had orders to HSC-28 and now im staying here in Pensacola until the new fiscal year

Anyone else here suffering from the money cuts?

Iam in iraq man kinda wondering the same thing. i have orders to go to vr56 once i get back. not sure if that will happen or not.

Detailers will allow some people to rotate depending on importance to fill specific billets in. Im on shore duty and probably the last on the list for importance. People like you who are in Iraq or are in an IA billet will most likely rotate out. Call your detailer and make sure though! 14,000 sailors are officially on hold! Message came out on bupers and NPC about 2 weeks ago confirming this.

Yea im not too happy either. Got real excited about going somewhere new and picking up a new NEC to work on H-60S. I feel for people though that are on hold right now stationed into a forward deployed/sea duty command.

yes well if you like to work from 06 till 2200 its good. 7 days a week. its not that bad its all your partners you have 3 RDC's per divission but some are surface guys so they are not that smart HAHAHHA

LOL!! I was thinking of doing RDC duty as my next choice of shore duty...but I havent heard alot of good about it. I think im gonna stay in my instructor field next rotation. I bet you get real good evals out there!!

hey is it true that they are extending boot camp a few weeks? I keep hearing that from alot of people but i dont know if it is just a rumor.... and those new recruits get the camo! I wish we would have got them...

Yea I wish they were issued to me as well. They are going to be expensive when it hits my area. Going to buy everything online now and later by the pants and blouse.

Dont know about the hold situation on recruits. I know here in A School we are still pushing sailors out to the fleet.

You'll still be ironing...they have to be flat ironed like all other camies.

I don't know what the distribution is for all areas, but they pushed the release date for the camies in my area back to April of next year.

Army > Navy....

ACUs don't need ironed, just pull them out of the dryer and put them on.

You don't NEED to iron the digitals they are giving us any more than you need to iron any other branches camies, but its in the uniform regs that they are suppose to be flat ironed.

Army designed ACU's are horrid. The best ones by far are the Marine ones. The Army's has a shitload of velcro on them that tend to wear out quickly. I am in the guard and it's taken less than 3 years to wear out my 3 issued sets. I have 2 sets from the AD days in the Corps that I used in Asscrackistan for a year that are in better shape.

I heard the new uniforms are not going to be given to anyone until Jan 2011. Aren't they blue and grey camo? they look pretty cool. someone put an article up on wikipedia about the NWUs also

Negative...they are slated for distribution to boots towards the end of the year, approximately Fall time frame. I'm not sure about the rest of the fleet, but my area is set to receive them April of next year.

Southeast region has them for sale and can wear them. I have a buddy of mine going to Orlando to grab me 2 sets from the exchange out there. I know VA area has them available for distribution as well.

They are expensive for your first set, and everyone's so nitpicky about the measurements.

I have a med X-long blouse and med-short pants...WTF.

I think I spent close to $200 for my first set for everything...blue Ts, 8 point cover, blousing straps.

This uniform is HOT in the summer...boy you better be ready...but the crotch room more than makes up for it...so comfy, FVCK UTILITIES!

S10 jedi you need to iron everything. Shit you just got out of boot camp last week LOL. The NWU is a PITA recruits walking around in coveralls for weeks til they get items not in stock. Good choice for the summer rush
