Re: Project White-Out

Thanks SSfan. I love my floor shift too. Sent ya a pm. Mine was originally brown when I got it and I smoother the whole down and repainted it and recovered it with carpet off another console from the wreckers that someone had tore all to pieces cause they didn't know whow to remove it. That really choked me up. But now I have mine. Was thinking of doing my daughters first gen too.

Re: Project White-Out

first gens will be a little harder because of the linkage my 94 had the first gen linkage you have to get the floor shift cable then do a little modifying to be able to hook it up to the tranny, plus the dash indicator, back up lights, and key lockout doesnt work because thats all hooked to the column on those as i said in the pm, im working on a way to fix the back up lights i dont really care about the key lockout or the dash indicator im just gonna find a way to cover that up, if you do decide to do it, pull the old linkage out of the engine bay when your done its like an iron rod that goes to the tranny if you just unhook it like i did it will bang against the headers and/or the frame and it will drive you crazy!lol let me know if you have any questions about that

Re: Project White-Out

They are at that. Looking at yours almost makes me want to strip down my console and paint it white, but it took to long to glue the rug back on and I don't want to deal with that again. I was also hoping to get the KAIK speaker grills and billet defroster but i heard they quit making them. Was trying to find some used ones so I could save a few bucks. Oh well, maybe chrome my stock ones.

Re: Project White-Out

You don't have to take the carpet off. Just melt out the plastic welds. I didn't re-weld mine back in, it has a little bit more of a gap now. It's not noticeable unless you knew it used to be closer.

Re: Project White-Out

I want to know how you like the slotted and drilled rotors when you get them on. That may be my next move with a rear end disc brake conv. My big heavy ZR5 with 4 way discs stops so much better than my SS.

yeah it came in and its great.... I really appreciate you holding on to it for so long.... and when I get it in I'll let you know how it does.....
I have to fix my exhaust when I put it in and change the thermostat..... I am still up in the air over the thermostat because I have no inner fenderwells and it is already running 30-40 degrees cooler than it did with them in....

Re: Project White-Out

Good to hear. I can tell you though before too long you'll be used to that chip and be begging for more hp. Then it'll be time to boost it!

no boost..... if i need more then I'm going to the 5.3 LS..... been thinking of getting one and adding some 6.0 heads and cam, going with a FAST intake and using the Current Performance harness with a custom tune on the pcm..... i think it will be enough then...

Re: Project White-Out

Oh yeah, that's actually the way I wish I had gone but I love my blower too. For what I spent on everything though, I could be pushing so much more power out of a V8.

it just costs too much damn money to do for what you get...... I can spend the same money on an ls engine and end up with over 500hp..... now I dont need that much hp...... but when I do the LS swap I can drop the 4.3 into my 74 LUV and it will be just as fast as the SS because it is about 900lbs lighter....

Re: Project White-Out

UPDATE: the ART airbar is on its way. It should get painted soon after it comes in. And I have decided that when I install it I am going to hardline the entire air system. I am planning on doing a blow-through sub box in the bed, so I have to at least build the box and install it before I do the hardline, because the tank and valves have to move back further in the bed. Also my billet knobs came in this morning and are now in their new homes in my dash.

true but the thing i like about the ls engines is you can do alot with them the ls3 is steep i would settle for an ls2 or 1 but yeah im not looking for too much hp either that camaro was way too fast for me id get in too much trouble with that much power!lol....i just want something that my suspension can handle and something more modern thats why i want an lsx
