Re: Project: "Diamond in the Rough" SS

OK the hood, grille, and mirrors are at paint, i set the grille in before i took it to paint and i took the stock hood off

I should get this stuff back tomorrow, the clear corner composites are now discontinued so i just got the clear headlights with amber corners on ebay i hate it but theres not much i can do, i dont want to take them apart and clear them because i think theyll leak if i do that so im just gonna leave them amber, i still need to get the pigtails wired up and i need 98+ seat tracks for the seats still...the engine complartment will be cleaned as soon as i get it back on the road

btw in case you were wondering i had to take the battery out to bolt the 4th bolt in on the headlight brackets

Re: Project: "Diamond in the Rough" SS

damn the red interior doesnt look as bad as id imagined it would earlier in the thread, but white and black FTW, also did they spray the diamond white as a 3 stage? i was thinking about doing a pearl white on mine, i was orginally thinking diamond, but i think im going to find the whitest base i can then spray some blue pearl and maybe some white and or silver pearl too in an inter coat

Re: Project: "Diamond in the Rough" SS

yeah its a GM factory color it is 3 stage, it has some gold, silver, and blue pearl...i love it it makes any boring white look amazing

Ok i got some updates...the headliner and door panels and misc panels are all in the interior is almost done except i need to mount the xm in the console and get seats bolted in whenever i find 98+ tracks...as for the exterior its just about done, i completed the blazer swap its wired and headlights are in i need to make some adjustments here and there but its coming along

all i have now is a crappy cell phone pic..ill have pics of the interior and exterior tomorrow when i get my camera back

Its not done yet but its starting to look like something again!lol

i didnt know if you had it sprayed as a 3 stage or if you could even get it as a bc/cc and ive known it was a factory color, i like it, but id want more blue pearl in mine

also whats that little square decal at the bottom of your fender, it look intriguing, also youre the oe that i was going to sell the 98+ tracks too, right? ill get my camaro tracks next time im in athens and see if i can make them work in my noma, if not ill try to get you some from the JY, do you mind if theyre power if i have to do that?

You really don't need the tracks..cut off the two rear inside bolts, drill a couple of holes, install bolts from the bottom up with a little green Loc-Tite and you're good to go.

the 98 tracks hold the seat together i tried putting my 94 tracks on, the 98+ tracks come up and bolts on to the side of the seat the 94 tracks dont come uo to the side of the seat, you got your 96 tracks to work?

I had a 60/40 split in mine. I used seats from a ZR2 Blazer and they worked just fine with the fix I mentioned. Check my link in post 149.

x2, quite ugly IMO, thats why ive got the camaro seats, and they are WAY more comfy than the 98+ seats that i had, they hold me perfect, and have just the right amount of lumbar support, i dont even notice my truck bouncing as much when i hit a bump since i dropped the back (i need either new shocks and or a rear sway bar)

hell i might swap you tracks if you want, you just need to put bolts in from the bottom and nuts on in the little space between the bottom of the seat and the bracket mount

oh, they already bolt up to the factory studs fine, i was taking about where i had to take off the studs where they bolted to the actual seat, but i covered that in the PM i sent you, i can probably weld the studs or bolts with the same pattern to the seats and you wont know the difference
