I haven't seen this thread in the SS forum.

Re: Post Pictures of Your SS

You have some really nice trucks.

I'd like to find a nice SS for sale sometime, I'd like to have one.
It would probably have to be a 98 though, I'm stuck on that year, my Xtreme is a 98, just like that front end better.

SSfan, I like the hood on your white truck, as well as the stripes.
What kind of cowl hood is that? It looks like the "Silverado" style hood in the LMC Catalog.

Clean truck man, hope to find one half as clean.

Hey, thanks fot the compliment..
Truck was traded in/sold (after pulling the good stuff to sell it). Had 200k+ miles, no second gear, ate a half-quart of oil a day, and had more rust cancer spots growing than I had the time or patience to fix. Got lotsa years of good times tinkering with and driving it, but I went ahead and bought the Blazer cuz it also worked out better with a little one on the way than a reg cab pickup with no passenger side airbag.

If that had a ton of rust, I sure couldn't see it. I do understand about the other stuff though, and you have a good looking blazer so you're good.
It still was one sweet looking ss and I'm sure if you had the money you would've kept it and bought the blazer.
What much did they give you on trade money wise if you don't mind me asking?
Just curious cause I just saw a one on cl for $9k, granted it was in great shape and low miles, but there's no way a dealer gave the guy even close to that.

Thanks
Marc

There's a clean looking one in Michigan I'd like to grab but man $6k is way to steep for me. May try and get this apple red one aroung here for $2k.

Oh wait, where did you get the steering wheel with the Chevy logo on the horn button? And what seats do you have? Interior is nice, you did a great job building your truck.

i painted it GM diamond white which is a pearl white, the stripes are a custom pearl red...we sprayed it with Prowler red and then put some gold pearl over that.....heres a better pic of the pearl(this was before it was buffed and waxed by the way)

heres the pearl in the stripes after we sparyed them..its not the best pic in the world

the wheel is a grant i got the chevy horn button at jegs

and the seats are from an '02 extreme

Check the sides of the tailgate at the bottom. I don't think I've seen one yet (after it was pointed out to me by Dork) that is completely painted on the edge.

Re: Post Pictures of Your SS

Maybe that is just how the emblems came out.
I have seen regular s10s with the S10 Emblem on either side of the tailgate too.

You guys have nice trucks. Wish I could find me a nice SS, I haven't seen one in person.

As far the the rims, they're 17x8 AR Vintage Torq Thrust M's w/ 245/45/17 skins.
This was in that thread he posted, I think this is what you're looking for.

i just checked it out and there is no sign of any paint work on the truck i do work at a body shop so i know the signs of parts being repainted and its all factory paint, no overspray, completely smooth, no texture at all or tape lines on the brackets, if it was repainted they did a really good job!lol....i researched it and found something about there were different workers that put the emblems on at the factory and they put them on in different in different orders, but not sure how true that is, im not too convinced of that because it seems that they all shouldve been put on the same way...but i guess we'll never really know!lol

I seriously could see people doing this, kind of like adding your own little sig. on a new truck. It would def. be an easy oversight. Or maybe a new guy in charge of putting the emblems on got confused.

And thanks for the info. paint is sick! BTW you ever see the Checkmate bed covers, I think that would be a nice addition to the white truck + you could continue the racing stripes. And the Checkmates are flush with the bed.

Marc

thanks i would put a checkmate on there and continue the stripes but the only thing about that is the stripes are a custom color and it would be very diffcult to match it up and get the pearl right

Thanks for the compliments, and thank you to UpOnOne for pointing you towards the info.
Here's a linky to my old install thread. Some of the pics may not work, feel free to pm me if you need any info I may have left out (b/c in retrospect, I did leave a LOT of info out, kinda rushed throught the thread) Gotta thumb down the page a little bit,. fogs didn't come until a little while after the initial install.
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f62/my...w-pics-340942/

I've linked to this thread so many times that I'm sure there's people who are gonna read this and be like "Ok, dude, we ****in' get it, you installed hids!"

Well, to be honest, they gave me shit for it. That's why I cleared out whatever I could parts-wise before trade in. Even though the pics hid it well, the rust spots (or I should say, the half-ass bondo/repaint job covering the rust spots) were plain to see to the guy at the dealer (the main spots were both rear cab corners and over the fenderwells on the bed, not to mention the couple dozen or so pinky-nail-sized spots bubbling up that hadn't popped through the paint yet) as well as the fact that the transmission was quite noticable in it's lack of proper function. That's on top of the 200k+ miles. It had a bunch of other stuff goin' on that i'll recall in another thread some time.

I honestly wouldn't have even felt right selling it to another forum member. I know that some people in this section appreciate the SS' enough to restore it to near-stock condition, but this one would have needed more work than 95% of us would be willing to put into it, time- and money-wise. They gave me a grand, I got me a Xtreme blazer for a good deal.

I was wondering what type of headlight you have on the truck? I have the stock one's and I think they are ugly, compared too the one's on your truck, If i'm not mistaken they are from a jimmy, but correct me if i'm wrong please.

No they are the composite healdights/grille from the 95-97 blazer its a really easy swap and it makes the front end look alot better in my opinion

Post #30... Drooowwlll... NICE...I have a 98SS that's been torn apart for a few years now. But it'll be back up to speed in a while. I want to buy another one of the 94-95 year to do this front end swap.
