Re: Verizon Droid

I've been keeping up with this new Motorola android phone too. I would be one of the people to pre-order this phone, being the first android for VZW and I'm expecting a lot from this phone with Andriod 2.0. I love the way it looks too!

What kills it for me is it probably not being a world phone

$199 with a new contract or if you are up for a new phone though right? I'm wondering what the retail will be if you aren't due for an upgrade.

Re: Verizon Droid

$200 with the new contract isn't terrible, its a little high. The phone looks great I'm just wondering what the monlthy bill is going to be. Also it has 16 GB internal storage (thats sick) can ayone confirm if it has a micro-sd card slot?

Re: Verizon Droid

$200 would be great if I was eligible. And yeah it's expandable to 32GB via a 16GB SD card. I would assume it's a MicroSD but Im not sure.

Kinda... It doesn't have integrated memory, but it already has a 16GB microSD installed and supports up to a 32GB card.

Oh, so it's hard drive is the SD memory card, you can just upgrade it to 32GB. Is it a SD slot?

FYI you guys can preorder it at Best Buy for 199. They basically nix the whole pay 299 and get the 100 mail in rebate 8 weeks later thing.

Re: Verizon Droid

God I hate having to get data plans with touchscreen/smartphones. I want a good touchscreen without having to get the fvckin data plan. All that Verizon offers in that area is the enV Touch, which is decent but phones like this shit all over it.

Re: Verizon Droid

I would not get it because Verizon's data packages are outrageous and they force you to get them with smartphones. I was forced over to them from alltel. And I am still using my Moto Q9 from alltel just because I am not paying an arm and leg for their data packages when it is cheaper and not even required with an alltel plan. It is enough I had to switch the text plans on my other 2 lines to a higher price with less messages because my oldest kid and wife upgraded to verizon phones.

Re: Verizon Droid

I have Verizon and I have the Samsung SCH-i760. While old, it's a nice smartphone that does everything I need and it doesn't require a data plan. It has WiFi so I can check my mail, weather, sport scores and sync my Google and Outlook calendar and contacts. I really like this phone, I've had it for about a year. The only problem is it's old and getting outdated so eventually I'll upgrade to the Droid, when I can afford $90/month phone bills.

I think he was asking what a monthly plan is with smartphone plans. The cheapest smartphone plan with unlimited messaging/web is $99. With taxes/fees on that, you'd be looking at $120 minimum. Then, a 2nd line is what, $20/mo through VZW? So that's $140/mo.

As an iPhone user, that is sucky.

I have 2 iPhones, both 3G's, and 2 regular phones, total of 4 phones on my account. Free nights and weekends, text, all that blah blah blah, and pay 150 a month.

This is why I wish they would make more touchscreen phones without having to use data/smartphone plan. Right now, the enV touch is about the only touchscreen from VZW that isn't required to use a data plan. It's a good phone and all but with all these kickass phones coming out.........

For 2 phones?

I have no idea what's going on there, but I'd tell them to check it out.

Re: Verizon Droid

Weird, considering I'm on a family plan.

The second iPhone on my plan is 10 dollars a month, plus the $30 for data. And then $10 more for each of the 2 other phones.
