Yea both have there + and -, Some things Xbox does do thats over on PS, but I think PS has more flexability and more potential whereas I think the Xbox is using most of its potential now. ill be getting my slim in about a week though. sad but true on the YLOD, its only on like 3% of PS3 and most are on the first gens, I think. Compared to like 33% of Xbox RROD! From what Ive read its an overheating issue and most times can be fixed by reformatting the harddrive on a PC instead of sending it to sony

If you did not get the sarcasm focusing or pointing out how sadly people like rusty follow one brand or console blindly, then I do not quite know what to say. The entire typing of the line with the over emphasized and incorrect spelling was intentional. Either way, both consoles have their ups and downs neither is better than the other. If you want a further explanation take into account the ps3 may have the better processor, but the 360 has more ram, and surprisingly in a dedicated console it makes a huge difference in terms of graphics. Also the biggest and I mean biggest difference and positive point for the 360 in terms of game quality is the simplicity in its programming, the ps3 takes alot more resources than the 360 to program for. The ps3 however has the best bang for buck in functionality and disk capacity, no competition there. Not to mention the ps3 is just an all around good media player. But no matter what anyone says, if you take a look in an unbiased manner xbox live is light years ahead of PSN...and in a generation where not everyone lives close to each other it makes a large difference.

Ill say it once and say it again neither console is better, its just a prefrence and is generally decided by two things
1. games (console exclusives) you want to play
2. what console most of your friends play

EVERYone I know that owns a xbox has had the red ring of death. I said it's microsoft's period. It's red and happens every month lol. But really the only games I can think that xbox has that ps3 don't is halo and gears. Neither of which I like. My ps3 has lased for a year and my dad's (very 1st model 80gb that plays ps1 and ps2 games) has lasted for 3 yrs or something. Froends with xbox have to mail theirs out every other month. Oh and the elite does the same.

Travy you are kinda pathetic and very narrow minded. I own one and complemented it's multimedia functions and its connectivity. If you read correctly you are rather biased to the ps3 and do not understand that most people will not shell out 400 to 600 dollars to own one. I have had my 360 for over two years now no problems. You want to know the main mistake most people make with their consoles? poor ventilation that goes for both the ps3 and the 360. You can justify your purchase, but that does not mean others can at the price tag it had before. Btw if you are using your ps3 to upscale your dvds....I hope you realize that a decent plasma or lcd has upscaling through the tv and is much more effective than the ps3's upscaling. Not only that but cheaper divx player have better upscaling than both the 360 and ps3.

ive had both and can honestly say i prefer the 360 and this is coming frome some1 who was a sony fan for the longest time hell the only time i ever had any other brand was my 360....ps3 definetly is better for media but if im gonna buy a game console i want the 1 that has better games and better online gameplay

rip off much? How pathetic that the charge 129 for something that you literally click on in the menu and it does an automatic search. The ps3 itself does a good job of setting itself up and updating itself on its own....woohoo they got paid to connect an hdmi cable....way to go geek squad. Giff careful because the new ps3 is not backwards compatible...only the launch consoles and the 60gb ones are.

Nice, I was going to purchase a 60gb but since the prices are so inflated on them I decided that a 50 dollar ps2 is more cost effective because it will play all ps2 games. Of course if i could find a 60gb in the same price range I might have picked it up to simplify my entertainment setup.

BTW everyone, I've probably said this before but last year Wal-Mart had a pre-black friday sale. It is only advertised online. I got my $400 80gb ps3 for $400 + a $100 gift card. So if they do the same thing this year that would be a great deal for some of you that are wanting one.

TM2 and TM were some of the best games on PS1. I loved the Italy board on TM2.

I doubt retailers will do that this year with the ps3, at that point they were paying alot less for the ps3 than they are this year, the profit margin is alot smaller for walmart and sony.

i just bought a used 60gb PS3 with Backwards compatibility for $300...and the only reason i bought it was so i can play ratchet & clank, and PS2 games. there are no games on it that make me want to buy them. i still play Halo 3 & COD4 on my 360. but i have to admit that the PS3 is pretty cool. but damn...it runs hotter than my 360

My biggest issue with the PS3 is the games that I want to play aren't 1080p. And almost all the games I play for xbox are 1080p. With a 67in tv I can easily see the difference in the grainyness of the games.
I kept my ps2 so I can still play all the silent hill games.

king scratchie, most games are not in 1080p anyways....only the arcade and psn games really do 1080p. If I am not mistaken, most games are still doing 720p upscaled. The difference comes in two things for the graininess/grayness of the ps3, the ram and it lacks a dedicated upscaler chip.....The 360 has 512mb ram but its dedicated video memory and has two or three processors to handle things such as sound, dashboard, and i forgot what else....The ps3 has no upscale chip built in so it does the upscaling along with the audio and so forth on the cell processor. On top of that the ps3 also dedicated, again if I am not mistaken, 256mb of ram to the xmb and 256mb to graphics...

I own one and complemented it's multimedia functions and its connectivity. If you read correctly you are rather biased to the ps3 and do not understand that most people will not shell out 400 to 600 dollars to own one. I have had my 360 for over two years now no problems. You want to know the main mistake most people make with their consoles? poor ventilation that goes for both the ps3 and the 360. You can justify your purchase, but that does not mean others can at the price tag it had before. Btw if you are using your ps3 to upscale your dvds....I hope you realize that a decent plasma or lcd has upscaling through the tv and is much more effective than the ps3's upscaling. How pathetic that the charge 129 for something that you literally click on in the menu and it does an automatic search. The ps3 itself does a good job of setting itself up and updating itself on its own....woohoo they got paid to connect an hdmi cable....way to go geek squad. Of course if i could find a 60gb in the same price range I might have picked it up to simplify my entertainment setup.
