i upgraded to a DVD rom and it aint working
i installed all the cables in the right places did little to disturb any other cables near it. but now i cant access the drive so i cant upload the software i also lost the top drive so now i cant access or burn shit. i changed the oem one cause well i really isnt good for anything other than reading Cds. what do i need or should i install the factory one back and get a external DVD rom

check the jumper seeting on the back of the drive. There is a setting for Master, Slave, and Cable Select

only cables you should be really worried about are the power cable and the cable to the motherboard. if you done all that you should be fine.
