I bought one for the s10, have yet to weld it up and install.

Steve himself did the R&D (i think some others too).. not to mention its in alot of racecars.... but truckarms seemed to be loved or hated, no inbetween feelings. Most of the "haters" have never ran a truckarm besides in their 73 pickup. The coils can easily be changed for tuning spring rates. I think the QA1 shocks have been made specially for HTH.

it looks to be a very easy setup to bag too! but im more into going fast and out handling that M5 that is sneaky up behind me...

aha. my bad then. i do not know price then.
but you'd think they'd give a lot more info/spec on their setup if they were serious.
bar material/thickness, length, etc etc

Re: Truck arm?

for 2 grand i could modify a factory truck arm setup for a s10, since they are fairly easy to get.

Re: Truck arm?

these systems do not look like they are designed to be used in air suspension systems or anything you are looking to get any kind of tavel out of. although the cental mounting points of the bars will allow a lot more articulation than a standard 2 link/ladder bar set-up, but this kit looks well designed and looks to be a race only set up. Nascar uses a 2 link based system in the back, so did GM back in the 60s and it worked fairly well for the time, considering.

ill tell you this much, i never seen this setup before but if i was gonna build an S-10 with handling in mind this setup would definately be considered

i love

Re: Truck arm?

Other options would be a modified three link or a angled arm setup. You could just make up your own truck arms. There are a few website about how people did their truck arms, on different vehicles.

Interested in seeing finished product. I talked to them years ago, and they said they could build an s10 kit, but didnt have anything on the site yet like they do now.

How much welding is involved with the install? Did it come with install instructions/any pics?

no instructions. Locate your axle. have to box the frame in certain areas for support or box your whole frame. you have to weld in that cross member, 4 supports for it. You have to weld in the spring cross member. Weld in the Panhard bar mount.

its not ALOT of welding but it is welding.... which i have yet to get started. BAH.

The page must not have loaded completely when I first looked.

So when are you going to start welding it in? I've been following your truck for some time.

Re: Truck arm?

Does that crossmember work on a stock truck? I mean wouldn't the gas tank get in the way?

Re: Truck arm?

Crossmember, to be mounted needs the frame boxed. I wouldnt put it in trusting the stock frame untouched. It's not wide enough anyways.
yup the gas tank will be in the way.
