Re: steering wheel crooked

Gonna have to get the alignment re-done to fix that. Sounds like somebody aligned it with the wheel not straight

Re: steering wheel crooked

Theres no adjustability for the steering wheel. Its all in the front steering.

As said you will need to take it to an alignment shop.

Re: steering wheel crooked

I know when I put a tilt column in my last truck I got it all hooked up under the hood, and in the truck and the wheel was upside down. Thought I would live with it, but I was wrong. Anyways I had to crawl back under and disconnect it where it meets the steering box and turn it until it was straight.

But since the guys above me are saying its not ajustable maybe I had something wrong when I had the wheel upside down. After I straightened it out it always drove fine.

Re: steering wheel crooked

that's bullshit they wouldnt align it for you, it's no different.

you just have to have the vehicle aired up to ride height while you do it that's all.

find someplace else to get an alignment.

It might depend on the year because mine isn't. It's splined, but not keyed. I disconnected the joint to get at the middle spark plug when I was changing them and never marked where the two line up. My steering wheel was off a touch afterwards when I put it back together. I could never get the steering wheel to line up perfectly after many attempts to adjust it. I just left it, but when I got an alignment about a year later they fixed it.

You could get it closer by doing this (assuming is not keyed). But you'll need an alignment to get it right on.

Re: steering wheel crooked

Ive heard of shops not wanting to align bagged trucks. They claim its because of the air up and down messes it up and people constantly bringing them back complaning. Same with lifted trucks. Some wont align them either.

Re: steering wheel crooked

i had to convince town fair tire to align me after i 5/6'd, but they did it.

and they told me my camber was in spec, even tho i have 3" coils. it really looks in spec tho like the tires aint like /\ or anythin but i figured the camber would need a few shims atleast
