s-10 pulls to the right

HI,
My 1994 4x4 s10 has 100,000 miles on it and it is pulling to the right. Tires are in good shape, brakes are not grabbing, and it has just been aligned. What could be causing it?

Re: s-10 pulls to the right

most likely: tire inflation, uneven tire wear (rotate them and see what happens)

alignment (unless the place is good, there's a lot of tolerlance), brakes dragging (takes a lot less than you think), wheel bearings

Re: s-10 pulls to the right

if steering components or sus components are worn, an alignment wont do anything. it will jump right back out of alignment.
of course, a good honest shop would not have aligned it if they noticed worn components, but sadly, most shops tend not to be

Re: s-10 pulls to the right

Check and see if the wheel is vertical lined. It may be leaning in ward that will make it pull bad. Check the control arm for bad bushings.

Re: s-10 pulls to the right

It's probably a worn idler arm.

Road Crown??? Or have the front end checked. (ie Balljoints, idler/pitman, tierod ends, bushings, wheel hub assy or bearings loose? tire problem causing the pull? there are several different scenarios for a pull, these are most common however

Re: s-10 pulls to the right

Mine pulls to the right too, and has done so for as long as i remember, it's a '99 s10 has 186000 miles on it. I dont think it's really gotten worse but the suspension, brakes and tires have all been replaced along the way so the problem is probably elsewhere. But for some reason my older brother's '98 s10 with 230k on it doesn't have any problems. Although i believe he's replaced his bushings and done something to his wheel bearings (he likes to fiddle ;p).

Another note, be careful because if yours has the same issue as mine, it'll pull to the right until you need to slam on the brakes, then since you're compensating left, it'll swerve left, not fun...i guess that might suggest it could be the brakes...but meh..

Re: s-10 pulls to the right

I'm 90% sure it's probably worn steering linkages. Check those out first.

Re: s-10 pulls to the right

When my brother owned my 94 it was the idler arm and a few other front suspension things... I can't remember what else though. then after that was replaced an alignment fixed it. Good luck
