Need Help!
I have a 2002 S-10 4x4, 4.3 automatic. I took it in for a wheel alignment. They told me it need new ball joints and it would cost $800 bucks. I decided to put the ball joints in myself. They went right in with no problem. When I took it apart. the front CV Joint axles came apart and the bearings went ever where. I put in new axles. Now I have a real bad vibration. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong with this truck.
I forgot to mention it has a 6" Superlift kit with 35s on it. I rotated the tires because they were wearing on the inside. |

Re: Need Help!
What do you mean tires? They are fairly new. I may have 1800 miles on them. Also the truck has been sitting for about a month.

Re: Need Help!
I think I got it figured out. I read on another website. The wheel bearings could be bad. If it is one wheel bearing. While driving if you swerve side to side the tone or pitch of the vibration should change or go away. I drove mine around the block. The vibration went away when I swerved left and got worse when I swerved right.
I may be wrong and if someone else knows different any advise would be great. Thanks |

Re: Need Help!
Yes, that sure sounds like the left bearing is bad.

Re: Need Help!
Now I am pissed! I spent $200 bucks on some wheel bearings. I changed the tires around and the damn thing still vibrates like hell.
I can't figure this thing out. |

Re: Need Help!
Damnit! I took the front drive shaft out and drove it around the block. still vibrates like hell. I put the drive shaft back in and drove it again. While driving, When I swerve to the left putting the weight on the right tire. The vibration gets worse. When I swerve to the right putting the weight on the left tire the vibration goes away.
I checked the balance weights. It doesn't look like any of them fell off. I don't know what to try next. |

Re: Need Help!
I have narrowed the vibration down to the front passenger side. It has new wheel hubs, a new CV axel, new ball joints, and the calipers and pads are less than a year old.
I changed the tires around a few different times. Does anyone know what is causing the vibration? |

Re: Need Help!
Just when I thought I had it figured out, I was wrong. My brother came over and figured it out right away.
He stood in front of the truck while I pulled up real slow and he could see the drivers side moving up and down. We jacked the truck up. and tried spinning the wheel. It would not spin. The brand new CV axel was bad. The end close to the hub was binding up. |
