Help me find which Poly Urethane Bushings I need for ZQ8 swaybars from Junkyard
Background:
I own a 2.2L 1996 S-10 Step side. This weekend I went to the pull it yourself junkyard and found a partially stripped 2000 S-10 LS with ZQ8 package. So I took both the front and rear sway bars. The only issue is that the bushings and end links off of the 2000 S10 are really worn out as well as rusted. So the idea is to switch them all out with Polyurethane Bushings. The only issue is that I can’t find a for sure list of the exact parts I need. For the front, I would like to find a set that includes 33MM bushings and brackets, as well as all needed end links. I found the following set: Energy Suspension Complete Front Sway Bar Bushing Set Chevrolet S-10, S-15 Pickup 4WD 1994-2004 (28mm-33mm) (104. Sway bar end links included) #3.5207-1 http://www.ultrarev.com/product.php?productid=44099 Has anyone purchased this setup? I’m pretty sure this is greaseable, which is good. The issue is that I want to make sure the end links are long enough. The end links that came off the 2000 seem to be really long. I have included a picture of the whole thing as well as just the ‘A’ Section. ![]() ![]() Has anyone purchased this set, and if so, are the end links that come along with the set as long as the stock 2000 end links? Since the originals were so rusted, I thought I would go get a different set off a 1997 Blazer. But when I looked at them, they seemed about half the link. Does it matter if the end links are shorter? Meaning, if I buy this setup, and the end links are shorter, am I going to run into trouble. I just want to make sure whatever I buy will work on a 1996 that is getting a 2000 ZQ8 transplant. Does Prothane make a full swaybar kit that includes endlinks? Im looking at this kit: Front Sway Bar Bushing Kit, 33mm Bar 7-1138 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=PTP%2D7%2D1138%2D BL&N=700+115&autoview=sku But Im not sure if it contains endlinks. Any Ideas? As for the rear swaybar bushings…. IM thinking Id go with Prothane, but Im not sure which kit I need: 7-1139 or 7-1175??? Can someone look at the picture I took and confirm which I need? Im thinking it is 7-1175 that works for endlinks that have an eyelet on both ends. (Note, in the picture, I took off the top mounting bracket) From the pic, would you say Id need 7-1175? ![]() Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

Thanks for the suggestion. If I dont get any replies, I will have to go to Autozone and check around on what they have. That will only fix the end link issue though.
Id still like to find everything online rather than have to search out local shops because I have none of those near me. |

Sorry but I just used a "Search" function and found this thread right under yours.
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f178/z...shings-341762/ there is a ton of information if you scroll down to a post with the kit numbers and other zq8 suspensions componant numbers. I too have been searching this board for bushing kit numbers and have found a world of information in the past 3 days. I just purchased a 01 Blazer Xtreme for a daily driver and replacing all the worn bushings with poly's I found everything i needed at Summit |

Re: Help me find which Poly Urethane Bushings I need for ZQ8 swaybars from Junkyard
Well, that thread confirmed what I need is I guess.....
front p/n ptp-7-1138-bl rear p/n PTP-7-1175-BL That thread said that those kits included the bar mounts and the endlinks. I hope that is true. I have no idea why Summit and Prothane site dont mention that it included endlinks. You think that would be something worth mentioning. Now to just hope for the best and hope the endlink they send me is around the same length as the one it is replacing. I have no idea what I will do if that is not the case. I also didnt see anything about which eyelet stle I need. Im assuming I can go with 7-1175 and hope for the best. From the pics I posted, it seems like that is a dogbone, but Ive never see it any other way, so Im not sure what 7-1139 even looks like if that has a stud on the end. |

Re: Help me find which Poly Urethane Bushings I need for ZQ8 swaybars from Junkyard
I had found a breakdown of the parts somewhere while searching and I know the rear kit does include the dogbone bushings too. enlinks for the front are included. they are complete kits. you can get the red set with just removing the BL on the end of the stock number.
I just got finished ordering every bushing to rebuild my suspension along with a complete set of the Bilsteins. I figured I would try the stock replacements before getting some koni's if needed |
