Front Driver side Thud..thud..thud

I have a 97 s10 4x4, stock everything. Just got the truck. The girl said that it has been making this thud since she got it in 2002. The thud is very consistant, and it speeds up and slows down with me. It happens all the time, turning left or right. Even in a very slow situation it happens(5mph) i can feel it really good under my feet, but hardly in the steering wheel, the mechanic said it sounded like a wheel bearing? I removed it and if feels pretty tight. When i spin it in my hand it only goes around 1/3 of the way and stops though. kinda feels stiff. And there is a little tink-tink sound when i hold it with the studs facing the sky. I hope that wasn't too long. I am just tring to make sure this is the problem before i go and spend 180 bucks. Thanks.

Your tire could have a flat spot. You'll get those if you lock down the tires on the pavement.

It ended up being the driver side wheel bearing.
