Driving Really Funny

Ok, first off I have changed all the ball joints, the idler arm and re greased everything, drove great for awhile, now it feels like the power steering keeps turning on and off, when I turn the wheel it'll act like theres no power steering then it will just start turning like it does have it. The steering wheel doesn't return back to the straight ahead position either, I flushed the old power steering fluid out and put in some new fluid but it really didn't make a difference. I checked and nothing is bent so I'm pretty sure its hydraulics not sure if my power steering pump is prematurely going out or if my steering gear box is getting seized up... At this point I'm lost, I apologize that I couldn't explain it better but any help or advice would be appreciated.

Re: Driving Really Funny

Did you bleed the system on the steering rack. Usually after flushing it out when you go back and refill it you will need to turn the the steering wheel full lock to lock ( all the way to left and then all the way to right) about a good 20 times to bleed out any air that could be trapped inside the system. Try it and see if it works. Open up the power steering cap when you do this.

Re: Driving Really Funny

sounds to me like the steering box, if it was the pump it would not get better then worse then better but the box has components that can hang up
