Bravada vs. S10 Blazer suspension
Hey, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the difference is between the suspension on a 94' Olds Bravada and S10 blazer. My Bravada sits 1" lower at all four corners compared to my dad's 4x4 Blazer. (And yes my truck is all wheel drive, so its not 2wd vs. 4wd) Is it just spring rates but same components or completely different. I would like to gain that extra inch if possible for exploring back roads. But I don't want to through my alignment/geometry out of wack by just tightening the torsion bars.
Also if anyone knows of a good lift for these trucks to fit 31" tires, and keep all the geometry of the steering and tire wear in check i'd be very interested. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Bravada vs. S10 Blazer suspension
There is no diff between the bravada and 4x4 blazer, exactly the same. More than likely the 94 springs are sagging in the back a bit and the keys aren't cranked up... This can be fixed with new springs in the back (use 3 plus a helper) and crank your front torsion bars a bit.
As to a lift, if you want one that's going to keep the stock geometry, go with a Trailmaster 5" lift. If that's too expensive for you right now (1200 bux) start off with a 3" body lift ($100 bux from trailmaster). The body lift and fixing your sag will easily allow 31's |

I just checked out the trailmaster website, and it says the body lift does not work with Vortec motors do to wiring harness length.

Use proper procedures and modify the harness.
