im lookin at buying a 03 sonoma with a zrx? package i think it was called. its a red extended cab, stepside bed, with a sun/moon roof (dont know the difference). its a auto with the 4.3 and, has the zq8 rims. all ive learned about it is that it has the streetrider package. what exactly is the streetrider package? i noticed it sits a lil lower than a normal s10/ sonoma.. ill probly be gettin it in about a week or so. itll replace my 99 bravada i blew up the month before last. i miss it and may whats left of the engine rest in pieces.

Re: zrx? sonoma
pretty much just a dressed up zq8...if i had to guess.
has the emblem in the door, the bedrails, and the sunroof. at least all the ones i've ever seen had bedrails on them. all of them have been stepsides also. |

Re: zrx? sonoma
Ya they came in both reg cab and ext cab, moon roof all power options guess some didn't get the bedrails, all were auto's.
Guess they came in red, yellow, black, pewter, have yet to see a white one, but I've never seen a million dollars either so....... Streetrider is just the GMC ZQ8 option with all the above options. |

Re: zrx? sonoma
i saw one today at walmart but it had the 15in sonoma wheels. it looked all stock, was great shape and had these big ass decals on the doors. i didnt think anything of it at first, i just figured it was a regular sonoma then i took a 2nd look at and noticed it was lowered and i noticed the rear sway bar...so i figured it had the zq8 suspension but i was surprised it had 15in twisted sonoma wheels...maybe he has another truck at home with the zq8s?

Re: zrx? sonoma
i finally got around to taking some pictures of it last night. other than the bed rails this is the gmc version of my dream truck from when i was like 10. ill probly be swappin out to a s-10 front end after a few months-ish. its not really 11900 its only like 9900 they got the price mixed up with something else. still a bit high but its in really great shape cept for a few little spots. im really excited about it though.

Re: zrx? sonoma
Good for you, Keep the stock GMC front. Break away from the pack and be different. I have a Black 5spd 03 ZRX. I belive the 03 was the only year the ZRX was offered. Extremes are very common compared to the ZRX.

Re: zrx? sonoma
we got them talked down to 7k and now im the proud new owner of it. i havent been this excited since i got my drivers permit lol. my plans are to debadge it, smooth the dash and trim and paint it later on, clear the headlights, smoke the taillights maybe, and maybe a ss bumper like on the trailblazers, but first thing will be a alpine cdplayer outta my bravada and a cai. but im gonna be broke for a while so its gonna go slow till i get a better job.

Re: zrx? sonoma
They should bolt on from under the rail. You'll have some lovely holes drilled in the bed rail to hide/fill.

Re: zrx? sonoma
Hmm..I thought the V6's had them, but not the 4 bangers. My 4.3 ex cab Xtreme had one, but my 98 ZQ8 4 banger didn't.

For the most part it was on mainly V6 with a 5 speed trucks......... but as we have learned they have come on ALLOT of models!
I need to look up the RPO and see if it was an RPO. |
