ZQ8.. What's the best BANG for the buck...

Overall? I was thinking of adding a posi as it sure likes to spin a tire way to easy. We were expecting snow earlier this week. So I loaded some sand bags in the back. I ended up with 600 lbs.. (now down to 300). Long story short.. I decided to see what the truck would do with 600 lbs in the back at a stop sign.... the damn thing still spun a tire not to shabby for an automatic.

Mine has a factory posi, it's probly pretty week, but it does spin both tires.

tires, i would say, those goodyear GA's that came with my x are the worst in the rain, with my new nittos it made a world of difference, i couldn't get them to spin on pavement, they spin a little in the rain but not like the goodyears.

Yeah, one of the best performance upgrades is a tire upgrade. Makes a world of difference in handling!

Other then that, anything to get more air in and out will help out alot. (Intake/exhaust/forced induction )

What's a good tire that I won't have to get into my son's piggy bank?

No how about you spelled discount wrong!! You put the o before the c. Anyway yes stick with the Nitto 555's. I have them on my truck and they are amazing. Actually almost time for a new set.

Re: ZQ8.. What's the best BANG for the buck...

No Nitto makes a couple versions of a 555. They make the 555 Extreme which is the street tire and the 555r which is the drag radial. The 555 Extreme is probably good for about 20k miles.

Re: ZQ8.. What's the best BANG for the buck...

i just slapped on a set of kumho extas..........they are just as stiff as the factory tires........but have a great wet rating...........and surprisingly enough...even though they are just as hard of a tire.......you can really feel a difference as you go through the motions of your daily drive.........i think they were 30k tires, zr rated, $90 a piece.............and of course i got them as wide as i could go on the factory rims that they had available.........255/50/16
