I know some people hate these...but they've kidna grown on me..and now I want some. Are they all painted on, or can I get some vinyl ones?? If so, where? I'd want them in black.

Like these, but in black....are they available in a vinyl?

Re: Xtreme Stripes

they are all vinyl, unless they're aftermarket, I would go to a good vinyl guy cuz you'll prob get nicer ones than from a dealership

Re: Xtreme Stripes

Ive seen them on ebay around 80 bucks. I might get some for my truck also, not quite sure yet. Id rather get stipes like those on an xtreme (with the pin stripe border) then just straight edges.

Re: Xtreme Stripes

If GM can get them...my g/f can get parts at cost, so I guess I'll start there.

My other concern is that I have a Sonoma hood....might look really weird, actually it probably will?

Re: Xtreme Stripes

Actually wouldn't it line up pretty well with the lines in the hood?

Re: Xtreme Stripes

iunno...just looking at the pic I posted it looks like the stripes kinda tapper inwards toward the center as they get closer to the end of the hood....that might looks odd with the straight sonoma hood lines?? But that just might be the way the pic is angled.

Anyone have some better pics of trucks with xtreme stripes on them??

And, I was thinking since my truck is pewter....would black or silver look best?? My initial thought was black, but silver might look kinda cool too...more subtle.

Re: Xtreme Stripes

i had stripes when i got it. they were oxidized as hell and were nasty. dont really have any good pictures because i hated how high it was and was ashamed of it lol.

some of them dont have them all on all the way. i was in the process of takin them off. hood- bought a new one. tailgate- shaved the handle with new paint. roof- what a bitch to get off. thousands of small pieces.

and dont flame the euros. they came on it.

Re: Xtreme Stripes

I wish there was a way to see it on a noma hood without actually buying them and trying it....I'd hate to get them, put them on and then find out the lines cross or something ugly like that.

Maybe start a thread asking if anyone has a noma hood and put them on. In case someone has them but does not see this thread.

Re: Xtreme Stripes

I don't have part numbers, but I found them listed on GMPartsDirect.
On the main page click Catalog at the top.
Click that you have read and agree.
For the vehicle I put in 2003 Chevrolet S10
On the menu on the left scroll down and click on Stripe Tape
Click on Stripe Tape again
Click on Stripe Tape again
Click on Hood, Roof and Tailgate.

On the roof page the colors are listed twice, but I'd guess that the more expensive one is for an extended cab...

Re: Xtreme Stripes

Easy way to see if they will look ok would be to cut out roughly the size and shape from the pic posted above out of paper and masking or scotch tape it on. At least it would give ya an idea of what you'd be lookin at. If ya dont like its not like it would be stuck on.

Re: Xtreme Stripes

Thanks alot...That pic with the dimensions was great....looks like it will interfer with the noma hood lines, especially near the back. Unless I can just move the stripes in closer to the center?? I might have to make a template and try.

Re: Xtreme Stripes

Nice truck....I love white Xtremes....But I do like the real Xtreme stripes better than those because they don't just end at the front of the hood, they kinda 'round off'.

Re: Xtreme Stripes

nah girl owned it b4 me (also had pink underbody lights) did a nice job with the vinyl so you can see any pink besides a couple scuff/scratch things inside tailgate.. i kinda like these better then the oem rounded ones fo sho.. truck did come factory with black stripes i guess.. i think white/black is a bad combo also yellow/black. just my opinions.
