Xtreme Changed into S10

Ok im thinking about taking my kit off my xtreme so I can get the truck lower. If I take this kit off will I have to buy any parts to fill in the places that a s10 has. Like the front bumper and on the right and left tail sides of the truck where the little piece is on the back. If that makes any sense. And what drop should I put on it if I take the kit of off it......Any suggestions?

well if you take the kit off you will have holes where the side skirts are, and the only thing you will need to buy new is a new valance, the lower part of the front bumper

im planning on taking mine off after i bag it this winter... im going to try and rip the kit off while i drag.... but defintly some holes to fill, which im going to hate.

Will you be able to see these holes. If you wont then why fill them. But since you say you have to fill them up I guess people will see them. The thing is the kit is what makes the xtreme and the sway bars and what not. Im just attached to it and dont excatley know if I should do it becuase it will look like any other s10 thats lowered but I could get lower with it.

I know im gonna get flamed for this but if you were planning on taking the kit off why whould you have wasted the money on the body kit if your gonna be taking it off. You should have bought a normal s10. Its kinda cool though cause now that ppl are ripping there body kits off your gonna start seeing fewer xtremes on the road.

actually I havent done anything to it. I was thinking about it...............If I just got a s10 I wouldnt have got the same package as a s10 with the sway bars and ect.......but in I do want that bitch lower than 2/3 with the kit off so I can get alot lower. I mean thats as far as you can get with the kit on there is 2/3 unless you want to drag your truck with the kit on there but. Id rather just take the kit off and get lower......but I havent done anything and I was thinking about it so I dont know rather I want to or not.

And if I lowered it 2/3 with the kit on there and at night run over a damn dog or something it will just tear my truck all to pieces so either way might as well save the airdam and the rest of the kit if I need it some other time.

You will have holes along your rockers...which will need to be welded up.

actually you could have gotten the same package just without the kit. I have a sonoma with the same suspension as the extreme, it's called the zq8. You could of also found it on s10's if you would have looked hard enough

I'll buy your airdam and rear pieces that go behind the back tires. Some turd took mine off before I bought and have been looking for a Vic Red airdam and back pieces since. Is yours a fleetside? PM me.

the holes arent that noticable. i had a 3/5 drop on mine when i had the kit and it was fine

I was wondering will I have problems with my driveshaft from lowering it. Ive heard of it happening. But does everybody have this problem. I wouldnt think so since everybody on this board pretty much has lowered thier truck... So would I have problems with it....... And somebody said something to me about compressing my coils on my truck and I was like why?.. When im just going to change my spindles in the front and put blocks in the back and differnt shocks and springs. Could anybody tell me why he said that for?

It was my first ride and I enjoyed the kit but Im dont like the way it sits.... and he didnt have any good looking s10s on the lot and that was a good looking one and I got it for 66 hundred and it had like 60 thousand miles on it when i got it and its a 2001 so......
