xtreme air dam

I've got a 00 extreme, and like everyone elses' my air dam is cracked down the middle and the paint around the crack has chipped off. Im looking to replace it and Im tossing around the idea of using the air dam thats on cervinis website. But will it look decent with the fender flares? or am i better off to go with a bumper cover? If I was going to do that i would use the ss style from street scene anyone have a pic with that one installed? thanks for replies in advance.

Re: xtreme air dam

the SS one is nice, but it doesnt line up with the bottom of the kit. so it will be a different height than the rest of the side skirts and might look a little funny... but it's all user preference

Stick with the stock X airdam, you won't find a better looking better quality piece.

The stock ones are actually a mixture or some shit, actually I have no idea what they are made of...I just know the "urethane" one I was talking about was VERY flimsy, I bet it would flap in the wind as you drive.

I believe its polyurethane either way mine works great since the reinforcement (steel) I have banged it against all kinds of shit and haven't cracked it yet, just a couple paint chips but oh well when its sittin 5inches off the ground I dont expect it to be flawless while being driven daily

Take it to someone and get it fixed and reinforced so it won't do it again. Another option is to get the one on ebay that is 249.00. They state their's is stronger than stock.

Check with Hucko. Depending on the shape it's in he is pretty reasonable. He sold me one with filler plate and fogs for 150 but shipping will kill you.

Have two friends with s10x's and they both have cracks right in the middle. We tried to bondo one with no luck. Glass didn't work either. I would just get a new one, they cost a crapload but its all in how you drive your truck. You have to be careful, its your baby!

If you want to fix it you have to use SEM plastic repair. I've fixed alot of bumpers with it at work and never had one crack in the same place again.

I'm not afraid to die, I just don't want to be there when it happens.

I have the same problem with the crack in the center, from what i understand the urethane ones are a lot less prone to cracking. I'm looking to replace it but am not sure whether to go with a oem one or urethane one now based on what i'm hearing about the urethane.
Can anybody tell me roughly how much i should expect to pay a body shape to replace and repaint the air dam?

I see I see, I thought you just made the claim like someone hit it with a shopping cart in a parking lot or some silly shit like that.

Im always afraid my rates gonna go up, thats why I try and not claim anything unless its someone else's fault.

They get me out the corn hole for $$$ as it is now.

actually the stock air dam is made of ABS plastic, thats why it cracks so easily..... (my uncle works at the service dept. for priority chevy)
