yea, depending on how much i get from insurance, i may end up with some vertical LED strips or something. who know? i need a new bedside obviously, tails, pan looks fine as well as gate, the bedcover latch is broked, and the flares would need resprayed. hopefully ill get a fairly nice chunk of change back. i know a guy who does nice work for cheap. anyone give me a guess on how much ill be getting?

Hay dr.pepper I feel your pain my old roomate backed into mine in the same spot. Same damage but worse the insureance company screwed me over and I ended up getting a use bed and a deal from my coworker dad on paint so I had some money left for Taillights after finding a bed online. but now my bed is darker then the cab.




I drove around like this for almost a week.

The insurance will sure dick you out of your aftermarket parts ie. the bed cover and taillights, hope you get the chunk of change you want and deserve in my opinion, just doesnt work out that way sometimes. I got 2000 on this claim...some guy shot my truck with a 9mm I found out when the cops caught him(I work in north philly, bad neighborhood), cost me nothing cause I have a body shop as well as a mechanic. photobuckets being gay check it out here MySpace

Talk about getting screw over I had a qoute for $2300 and the insureance cmpany said I could not go with new parts so they found a used bed online at a local yard and wanted the shop to pull the side of and put it on mine. It would not have even worked cause it had holes in the side from bumer caps and they were only willing to $1200. I bought a bed and the body shop fixed the small dents and painted it for $1100 for me.

a lot of times both people are at fault if it's in a parking lot. i would be careful, even though everyone knows it was the other guys fault. might have to pay your own and he pays for his own. sorry dr. pepper, i feel your pain. i was rearended over the summer. it may be a blessing in disquise if you get led tails or something cool like that

they shouldnt. it says they have to return it back to the way it was before. i dont really care about the tail lights. they were on it when i got the truck, i just tinted um. i have stock tails i can use. the bedcover is fine, bodywork wise. the latch is just broke. that was on when i got it also. thats messed up about getting shot up. CRAZY!!!

whatever, all i would have to pay is the deductable, which is like $250. i still dont want to pay it, but i should come out on top either way. im definatly thinking about vertical LED strips mounted like caddies. what does everyone think about that? anyone have any pics like this. i looked, but didnt see anything. i would love to see it before i go ahead with it.

pretty bright i think, brighter then the cheapo ones for sure
reverse lights look awesome, but no led actually outputs much light for lighting up the area. it wont light up the area as well as stock reverse lights

thanks for the link. those caddies on there look sweet! that just threw another fish into the barrell. now i dont know if i want to do that or get either flush mount or frenched leds with reverses at the bottoms. I NEED OPINIONS GUYS!! COME ON!!!

edit: i may run one of those line of fire lights with the reverses also. i had one before, and i liked it. no reverses, but it looked great at nite. whats your opinions on those?

Nah he walked up while i was talking to a friend and when i saw the gun i started to drive off, he had some beaf with me, so he shot up the side thinking he was hitting the gad tank i supose..(moron), and back window, I got 2K for it, so im not complaing.

personally i dont like the line of fires. i think its just cheap looking cuz any old joe can buy that crap from stylinconcepts and slap it on there. (funny i say that cuz i got a lot of bolt on stuff from stylin lol). also the viewing angle sucks because they are like sunk into the bed, u need to be directly behind someone to see them. I say here are your options that i think would be cool:
1. do it just like mine....looks great
2. french in some caddies sideways in your roll pan
3. do a massive like 50" LED strip flushed into the bottom of the tailgate or roll pan. just get a multicircuit one to function as brake, reverse, turn, etc

i especially like the last idea. i was thinking about that today. we went to the washington auto show and was looking at some cars 3rd brake lights and seeing how bright they are and how big some of um are. i was trying to get away without doing any work to the pan or gate, because theres nothing wrong with um. but, it would probally be the same amount of work to put it in the gate as the bedsides. plus it would only be one.

i despise crooked caddies. looks like a$$ if you want my opinion.

i do like yours, but i want um higher and easier to see. maybe i can do it right by the body line.

ill talk to my guy and see what would be easier. plus, i dont even know how much im getting yet, so im kinda ahead of myself right now. hes still cheaper than any shop, so i should be good.
