Re: hop shock

Bilstein does. You'll have to look on their website for the part #. I just bought one for my truck last year.

Re: hop shock

15998553 , that's Bilstein's part #. They are available at Allshocks.com for $49.95. Great deal, IMHO

Re: hop shock

Are you sure that the last two numbers aren't 33?

Re: hop shock

Greatdane68 did you get that one that ends in 33 for your ZQ8?? Just wondering cause it says that it is not for ZQ8 suspension on that allshocks website but wondering if it fits fine?? Thanks.

Re: hop shock

Idk, you'll have to look on Bilsteins website. I noticed that too, but that's got to be it. I can't remember what the part number was, because I got mine a year ago.

Re: hop shock

Ok, the part # is 15998553. That's directly off the website. So I guess that allshocks doesn't carry them, because I put that part number into the search bar, and nothing came up. But you can get them on e-bay all day. That's where I got mine from.

Re: hop shock

You can always replace it with a steering dampener as well, thats all the hop shock is really, technically its not a shock at all but a torsional dampener.

Re: hop shock

Yeah, that's way high. I got a used bracket and a new shock off e-bay for a total of $65.00 ($20 for the bracket, $45 for the shock).

Re: hop shock

I wouldn't worry about it. For that price, I'd just get it for the bracket, and buy a new shock for it.

Re: hop shock

Greatdane68, where did you get your billet grille at? Looks good!

Would the hop shock help out with, just normal driving as well? Do you have any better pics, of that install? I thought about doing this as well.

Re: hop shock

It makes the ride a little stiffer. Plus no more wheel hop on wet rainy slick roads when you take off and spin a little. But it will make the ride a little stiffer.

Got the grille insert off e-bay. It's a bolt-over.
Those pics are the only pics that I have. I should've done that with the wheel off the truck. Then I would've gotten some better pics. Jtcfanof3 is right. It does make you're ride a little stiffer, but not a lot. It's not intolerable. With your truck being dropped already, you may not even notice a difference. But anytime the you spin the rear wheels, it'll keep the rear axle from hopping. It's a worthwhile investment.
