Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

that link was a how-to on removing the bumpstops, you can use air tools or a sawzall

and yes you will have to remove them, and yes it will void your warrenty (at least what i've heard)

So the spacer will raise one side up to match the other? or lower one side to match the other?

also...bump stops look like a pain in the arse

so you guys are saying that the zq8 sus only lowers the front 1.5" or did they lower the back too and if so how much and how?

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

the front is lowered 1.5" with drop springs

the rear is lowered 1.5" with a pulled leaf

some say it's a total of 2" all the way around.. because the x tires are more low profile or somethin.. but it's about 1.5" all the way around

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

so by buying a 2/3 drop kit like the one in this sticky i would have a total of 3.5/4.5 drop in comparison to a stock s10 not zq8 right.

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

Yup, as long as you use the drop spindles and blocks as it says in the first post you'll get the 1.5" + 2" = 3.5" up front and 1.5" +3" = 4.5"

and to answer about it being compared to a stock s10 no zq8 yes you have a 4/5 (as most say instead of 3.5/4.5) and compared to any other zq8 you have a 2/3 drop more

that's actually incorrect. yes, it has one less leaf than base model, but pulling a leaf from a base model does not give you a zq8 pack. it's actually a stiffer spring.

225/40/18 and yes i still rub.... thats because of my 8.5" wide wheels... im pretty sure any 8" wheel and under won't rub...

it's really not that big of a deal though.. no tire or rim damage on mine...

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

it's best to take out the whole Bracket along with the rubber, i'm sure thats what your axle is hittin on.... then take some black spray paint, and spray it on there...

and just so you know, Angled blocks should be used on the extended cab trucks. but arent essential

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

I have a 01 Blazer Xtreme and was wondering what I ALL need to do a 2/3 drop. The 2" drop spindles, the 3" drop blocks. So here are my questions: Are the blocks needing to be flat or angled? Do I need to remove the bumpstop? I read that I probably won't need to flip the brake line but will it be a good idea to do it anyway? Is there anything else that I need to know? And finally, does anyone know the part numbers for summit racing for all the parts that I need? Sorry so many questions but I'm a newbie to this. Thanx

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

why does it say that the bel-2100 fits malibu, monte carlo ss, grand prix, regal/gn, 1980-87, cutlass/442, 1980-84? doesn't say anything about fitting an 02 blazer x.

i believe the blazers use a different spindle, that spindle is much more expensive. send a PM to THRICE here on the forums, and he can answer all your questions about the blazer, Xtreme2115 and chimera

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

Soon i'll be doing the 2/3 and i had a few questions.

Does this void warrenty? I heard cutting off the bump stops do but if i left them on until the warrenty is up would that cause any problems?

I ahve an extended cab and do i really need angled blocks? Can I have the part number for the 3" lowered blocks?

THe belltech drop spindles that is stated in this thread from summit that costs 150 will fit on my 03 X, right?

thanks for any help

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

will it void warranty. i believe y2k xtreme said Yes it will PM him, he will know for sure and i dont think you could drive it without the bumpstops out.. you would slam em so hard all the time it would hurt.. lol

2) you dont HAVE to have angled blocks but it will throw off the pinion angle which isnt good and the part numbers are in the first post of this thread. get the angled blocks. its better and they are cheaper

3) yes the spindles stated are the ones you need, the part number is in the first post of this thread as well

any more Questions. just ask away

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

don't wanna mess up an air dam. would a 1-2 drop suffice or would that be pretty pointless? low budget so i dont wanna duff up 200 dollar air dam. wouldnt bottom out near as bad either would it? could i get by with just cutting out the rubber on the bumpstop? does belltech even have a 1" spindle?

Re: All of your 2/3 drop info here!

no 1" spindle drops out there that i know of... u have to go 2" and it doesnt even effect your airdam that much. i've had the stock one for 6 years and its still on there... it will get scraped up underneath, but take it easy up steep driveways and your fine. and you can get away with just taking the rubber out. but it will hurt like a bitch when that axle goes up into that bracket. youre better off cutting it all off

ya i'd go and do the drop. but thats just me, cuz i hate teh gap in it

oh and i see your truck is black. thats the perfect color scratches on the top will not show up. thats why mine has lasted so long... white truck get screwed very quick. but on our black trucks it hides the scrapes. so go do the 2/3 drop

mine hasn't hit ANYTHING yet.... ive been lucky.... and whats this with scrubbin. i don't wanna be scrubbin tires. 1/2 just seems more practical for me.. would DEFINATLEY make a difference....just not as drastic...

ive got a jar started for saving... so... yea... im in the right direction.

It has the Zq8 suspension package.....which includes steering box, sway bars, Bilstein shocks front and back, sits 1.5 inches lower than the stock S-10 using drop coils

For most of the people who can't afford bags or just want to go a little lower and level it out because of this 1.5 drop, the most popular drop is the 2/3 (2 in front and 3 in back) This involves using 2 inch drop spindles and 3 inch drop blocks **note** if you have an extended cab, you use ANGLED blocks!

The most popular setup and cost efficient one I have seen is through Summit racing and the part numbers go as follows

a 2/3 drop

belltech drop spindles bel-2100
and belltech 3" blocks bel-6100 or bel-6102 (depending on if you have a extended cab or not)

This usually runs for about $170 shipped, and is pretty easy to do with the follow along instructions.

**Note** Some cut the bumpstops out halfway or completly this is to prevent from bottoming out hardcore, and also you will run into the infamous Chevy lean where one side will lean about a 1/4 of an inch lower than the other side, this can simply be solved by using the spacers that are available at Summit.

I hope this has helped answer some questions and if I forgot anything I will add it later! Keep on rockin kids!
hey whats up i have a question. i have a 94 noma non zq8 i put a belltech 2/2 drop on it 2''drop spindels and 2'' blocks if i were to buy zq8 coils and leafs would it bring me down another 1.5'' so my drop would be 3.5? thanks

plus it would handle better ESP if you throw on some zq8 sway bars... which ive seen for sale often on here.

...im thinking about running the pipe in between the leafs and frame so the tip can be way off to the side but still stick straight out dont know how it will work with the drop?
I thought about doing that too, but I let the guy at the muffler shop talk me out of it. Right now I have a Flowmaster with a turndown. Kinda ghetto-fied, but it sounds good.

Please let me know if you do this, as I'd still like to try it. (Mines a ZQ8. Not dropped.)

Thanks.

6202 for extended cab skrot74

xtremeninja i just noticed a flaw in your post... you have 6100/6102 when you need 6200/6202 instead

cuz the other is for 2" blocks not 3"
