sylone

i dont actually own a syclone, but i do have a 97 4.3 2wd. i love the old syclone trucks though, really about the most impressive thing gm ever did with a small truck. ive been all over s10forum and played around with all sort of ideas with my truck, bagging, v8 swapping, etc. but now i think im finally dead set on converting my truck to a syclone. i realize that the syclone was only produced for a few years an never in my trucks body style, but thats really the whole idea behind it. kind of a gm coulda woulda shoulda. im really just hoping to get some information from syclone owners or anyone else that knows about what details it will take to make it authentic. all the information i have found so far is from wikipedia, which i tend not to rely on. any links to pages with such information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: sylone

Cyclone's are awd
In short you would need a 4x4 frame, 2in drop, awd parts from a bravada (some have used astro parts), beefed up 4.3l with a turbo & an xtreme body kit.
That will get you relatively close.

Re: sylone

i was aware they are awd. 4x4 frame? can just get the awd tcase from a bravada and put in appropriate support for it? what else was different about that 4.3 other than the obvious mitsubishi turbo?

Re: sylone

Ummm the syclone has almost a completely different motor. Different intake, heads, internals, etc.
