Re: what coils to run

really depends on what you want to do, hop or just up, down, drag.

Re: what coils to run

for just up and down, nothing special, you can run your stock springs up front.

Re: what coils to run

you can do coil over in the front with powerballs in the front, takes a bit of work and welding on the lower control arm it seems pointless to me. I suggest doing a coil under set-up with the stockers cut down, or 2 ton coils.

it just got real ugly, the cobalt blue went to shit (original paint that has been sitting around for a year) so he had to change color or buy new, he picked bright orange and cadillac pearl white for ghost flames, flames look good, the orange makes it look like a county truck

hopping an s10 you want maximum of a 2 ton spring I suggest 6 inch cylinders in the front so you can try to get as much of a full stack of 2 tons in there as possible, can also modify your lower control arms spring pocket to accomodate the full stack, big pump gears #7 or bigger, some nice italian dumps, 1 inch check valves (could get you a deal on that) Y block all 1 inch fittings till you hit the hoses, NO slow down valves! and there is a secret to modifying pumps but I was told it and sworn to secrecy. Then about 72 volts will get you some major hopping abilities, then you are going to want to extend your uppers 1-2 inches for extra lift and help the ball joints from binding.
if you really want to hop I know someone who has a pump laying around that will get you so much hop its sick! I might also be able to hook you up with some extended uppers.

I am not into hopping but I am accidently a hydraulic and s10 expert

Re: what coils to run

off the top of my head I cannot remember how many turns to have, I will check here in a second. You will have to cut your frame for control arm clearance and have spindles to lay. If you want you can swing by and check out an s10 I am building and see exactly what needs to be cut and what not.

Or you could do like Mad Mods did on my dime, cut and reweld the control arms at an angle and reinforce it. It's lasted over 5 years on that setup and it definetly works.

Re: what coils to run

the best no work/cut coil(they are 6" tall out of the box) for the s-10's in opion is the red's 1ton precut with a 6" cylinder, that way you wont lock up as hard.
