Update on my hydro install......new pics.

Ok, so ive been postin some pics of my recent hydro install on my truck, and also have been smoothing out the bed and re-sheetmetaling it. so lets recap.

This is the new suspension i did in the rear it consists of
6" Chrome Cylinders in front
10" Chrome Cylinders in rear
3/4 Ton Mini Coils/ With Custom Machined spring cups out of 3" Round Aluminum stock.
Tri-4 Link
Maltese Cross Pump Plates
Pro-Ball Setup on Axle.
Two Prohopper Pumps
Two Prohopper Dumps
Two Prohopper Accumulators
All Stainless Steel Braided Lines
All chrome plated fittings

Pics.

Ok now on to the bed. I re-sheet metald' the bed with 16gauge , installed trailer fenders for wheel tubs, smoothed the sides of the bed into the inside of the bed.

For the electrical side of my Hydro install i used the following:
4-Stinger Dry Cell batteries, Very small in size, but very powerfull, 1200CCA
All Chrome Street Charger. (charges my batteries while i drive)
All stinger Platinum connections
Stinger LED battery monitors, to show the voltage of each bank.
Stinger 0/1 gauge wire.
3 Accurate Selinoids per Pump.
Two Aluminum Quick Disconnect Switches, instead of them ugly pull apart cables that alot of people run.
Stinger Weather Proof Grommets
Finally i Sprayed a rhino liner in the bed to finish it off.

Pics

if you have any questions or comments please post, hate at your own will.

for sure, i wouldnt take my sway bar out if i were running 4 dumps, i just dont like the ride without it, and im not interested in sides and all that shieat. Im runnin one line up front to the cylinders then using a bulkhead on the firewall then branching to each cylinder from thare so each cylinder has the same amount of fluid on each side, to try to cut down on fluid transfer around corners.

U shouldnt have a problem with fluid transfer around corners, its not like u are going to be 1. 3 wheelin the corner, or 2. taking a corner at 50.

Re: Update on my hydro install......new pics.

yea, i dont think i will have any problem with fluid transfer, i just wanted to eliminate it for the most part, just for a better overall ride.

Yea, and i dont think 3/4 ton is too stiff of a spring for the back of a s10, i mean, im only runnin half a stack on each side, and have quite a bit of extra weight in the bed now, like batteries and pumps, i think 3/4 is about right, cut in half of course. And no im not runnin shocks, just pumps/spring/accumulators.

without a swaybar it is a huge issue, by brother had a cutlass with 1 pump 1 dump to the front and 1 pump 1 dump the ass, and turning into a drive way at 2 mph the thing seriously hit a side pulling in to the driveway and had to be lifted all the way back up everytime he turned lol it sucked. sorry to hijack the thread.

I never had 1 pump 1 dump setup when i had dros, but now that i have bags, and i have F B when i turn a corner, i dont have a prob, prolly cuz i have a sway bar.

the only reson i asked is i was running 250lbs/in ones in mine compared to your 1500lbs/in ones you are running in yours, i would think it would want to bounce a lot more.

Ure blaz rode good too. I thought, smack me if im wrong, if u have a 3/4 ton coil and u cut it, it makes it stiffer, like a 1 ton coil then....

fluid transfer is a big problem with one dump on each. Kia's cavy proves that eyepoppin. I am going to help him add 2 more dumps before it goes back out..

this is a very good ?. what a lot of people think is when you cut a coil spring that it gets stiffer, this is not the case. all you did was remove stock which means that you have less coil hieght to asorb the bump in the road. it still takes the same lbs per inch to compress it 1"

Re: Update on my hydro install......new pics.

i agree with you trout!! i know exactly what your saying. in most cases i run 1/4-1/2 ton coils in the back with as much coil for suspension absorbment as possible. a mini truck doesnt weigh in at 2 grand to the ass why set it up like it is? it will ride like shit. in taylors case he got accumulators which in turn will help get rid of that but again was pretty well pointless seens how its not on a strutted car. therefore wasted a couple hundred dollars... thereas didnt do too much home work.
hereby again running 2 dumps without a sway bar means total body roll around corners. and chances highly of risk of roll depending on speeds. meaning nothing to stabilize his ride. nothing i would take a ride in over 10mph.

hakt up.......if kia needs dumps still p/m me i have one delta with a check valve and if you have a spare stem, i have the rest for a second. willing to trade for 94 up dime body panels to get my 02 back out.

Re: Update on my hydro install......new pics.

you must not of read the post above, i AM running a sway bar up front man, come on read a little here. And while were on the topic of body roll here, another way i am helping eliminate it is only running one line up to the front of the truck and at the firewall using a bulkhead and t'ing it thare with a line to each cylinder, tharefore cutting down on the abount of fluid there is to transfer between the cylinders.

But what your saying tho is that accumulators are only usefull on strutted vehicles????.....your gonna have to xplain that better. Because that whole post you posted above thare totally contradicts what the tech support at CCE told me, they reccomended that i do run 3/4 ton minicoils in the rear of my truck, as well as the accumulators to achieve the ride i was looking for. Maybee the they dont know what their talkin about tho, i guess. right?

totally meaningless. all one dump front or back kits come this way. its great to hear your running a sway bay though.

I am stating this. yes the combo works.........my question to you is why? i didnt say there for only a strutted car. im saying they are worthess to something you can choose a proper spring rating on. if you chose the right spring rating. and had the right coil height. you would ride like stock in the rear. the 3/4 tons with no accumulator are going to ride like a brick. so you saved yourself the agony going with accumulators. now you could have never even used the spring or your extra cost mini coil over cups. now just because you talked to cool cars direct does not mean they will neccisarily feed you the right info. its called upselling. or excuse me upgrading. the only one down there that has it right is colin. that doesnt mean he wouldnt sell you accumulators. if i owned my own hydro company i would too. especially right now when the hydro demand is way down. its a shame you didnt purchase the 2 pump street kit all at once though you would have gotten all 4 dumps and saved approximately $200 on that alone.....making up for the cost of your accumulators. and there would never be a body roll factor in play. my question to you taylor, your going to run your sway bar and plan on laying body on 20's.....it can be done but have you done all the propper fabrication to your frame and your suspension components needed to make it actually happen?

good one just curious though as to why you would even consider running accumulators anyways when if you go with the right spring it will ride like stock? im just challenging your opinion just kind of curious why you would want to throw away a couple hundred when not really needed thats all?

se now that whole up-selling deal would make sence, but the story is i called CCE tec support, but..........i wasnt purchasing CCE equipment, i got prohopper???. And yes, the kit i did order was a 4 dump kit, but the other two dumps are currently on my golf cart. (and she gets wiked air ) The bottom line i guess on this is, so we dont have to keep argueing here on who does their stuff perfect, cus this probably would go on forever, you do your things your way, and other people do it their way. What the fuk ever, wether CCE was trying to up-sell me prohopper equip or not, i trust their judgement.

Oh and the 20's are deff not going to happen this year, i just bought a new house a few months ago, (for the second time damnit) and i just bought a new truck last week, so the 20 fund dwindled away............unless you count the 20's on my new dodge pickup??? bot most the mods to the firewall and frame are allready done, i think all i would have left to do is rework my a-arms a little and relocate my clutch resivuar, but im just gonna stick with 18's for this year probably, if i can save enough over the summer i will.

Re: Update on my hydro install......new pics.

never said i had any beef dude. I was purely asking questions thats all. If you ever have any questions or anything at all about soem things to lay your truck down on the ground with dubs just give me a shout. i'd be more than happy to offer any kind of help.

j.r. i am not going out and bashing taylor. i am helping him out by allowing him to know whats going to happen if this and that is or isnt done. how is that bashing on someone. when i said thats great he's going to run a sway bar..... how is that bashing him? when i said the accumulators will get rid of the harsh ride 3/4 ton springs give you this also isnt bashing on him.
so let it be known taylor. this is no beef. im merely trying to help you out. thats all.

j/r im going to say this nicely. lol suck it lol dont take it personal dude. that was a joke lol.

OKAY --
/rant

Rick i already explained my reasonings to you. I am not throwing just u attitude, When Big J was here and he was advertising ask him what i did to him. I dont pick favorites here. I just keep the place running smooth.

I am BY NO MEANS telling you to stop posing here in juicin it. I love that people are posting here, keep posting, keep threads alive, make new ones.

I will ask 1 last time to EVERYONE (Big J, Trout, Chad, Rick, Taylor, Rikuy, ETC ETC ETC) if you have a problem with a member please pm them, dont get it all in public so other people can feed the fire.

There were problems between Chad, Rick, and Taylor, i know that, hopefully it is all worked out so we dont need to keep doing all this bs.

Anyone who thinks i have an attitude, i am sorry, i do not have an attitude, i am just trying to keep this place clean and clear of BS.

Nice Rant and right on point. I agree and will try my best to keep it on topic and only help people if I can, not offer my useless point of view to someone just to post. Thank you...

Re: Update on my hydro install......new pics.

I would like to see a bigger view of the rear setup with the powerballs. I have seen them on some the hydro sites but never really understood how to set them up.
