Re: time to buy need some info/help
If you just want to lay out and 3-wheel, you can save some money and get a 3 pump setup... And don't get 10" cylinders in the front... Get 8"s... Now the back is kind of tricky... If you want it to lay out, you have to consider this... Hydraulics have different measurements to take into account then air bags do... You have your mounts on top of the axle, cylinder collar, donuts and spring... The lower you go the bigger your bridge will have to be... This can effect the size of the cylinders you run... Take for example my truck... My truck lays frame... I have a 12" step notch and 2.5 turns in the rear coils... I am running 18" cylinders in the back... The tops of the cylinders stick up about 6" above the bed rails... Now I have 2 choices... Get a Snug or nothing at all because a tonnue is out of the question... With that being said, let's talk about the issue of stanging 3-wheel... You should probably run 12" or 14" cylinders... You should also get some Power Balls... Pro Hopper calls them Pro Balls... You will also need a chain bridge... You should chain the truck at around 7" to 9" to get a nice 3-wheel... You will also need to reinforce the stress points of your frame... Those being the rear arch above the axle, between the bed and cad, and the front where the control arms mount... Reinforcing the control arms and changing out your ball joints is not a bad idea also... If you have any more questions, I will help out as much as I can...
