Switch box wiring, kinda easy?
ok, my buddy is kinda lowbudget and doesn't want to get a new switchbox. who ever he got his switches from attempted to rewire it and only 4 switches work now. he's running a 2 pump 4 dump system. i found this on layitlow.com, http://www.layitlow.com/tech/switches_10.shtml and it seems to be what i'd need to rewire it for him. my questions are do i just come into one switch with one color and then jump it to each switch- wire from the cable comes into 1 lug then have a piece of wire go to the next switch from that switch, then to the next one eventually connecting all the colors. OR do i have the wire from the harness split and have 3 or 4 seperate pieces go to each switch.
and also, i just power the centers in a line haveing a fuse in there as well (right off the battery) |

You can jump them over, its no problem to do that.

Re: Switch box wiring, kinda easy?
cool, i showed my dad last night and he said thats called, "daisy chaining" so we found that the wiring was messed with and nothing was right, got a diagram off layitlow and i'm going to follow that today. we tested the switches as well and they all work. so now i'm feeling good about the rewire.

yeah that diagram from layitlow is perfect. When I am being retarded I use it cause from time to time I have a brainfart AND FORGET WHO I AM LET ALONE HOW TO WIRE ANYTHING!

Re: Switch box wiring, kinda easy?
just an update, my father works with wiring all day long. he helped me test the switches to assure they worked fine. he got me wire to match that diagram from lay it low with a fatter power wire. we wound the wires and covered them with a really nice sleaving. my friend never brought me the switch box so i had to rig one up so i could do the switches. 3 hours later with all the 'daisy chain' run, everything lugged with shrink wrap over those just to be safe and all things solidered that needed it i was done. of course i had the tv on comedy central so i'd get side tracked, but after hooking the box up to my friends hydro's it works perfect. and if anyone read this in the future, i went through 16 feet of wire to go from the back of the truck out the side window with about 4 feet to spare (using some of that to 'daisy chain' everything) and its NOT hard, just time consuming.
